GW should make THAT into a super hero movie to start of their cinematic universe. People will be drawn in expecting dark marvel, they get to see life in a hive world, servitors, imperial cult, arbites, underhive gangs, and in the end the hero's true nature is revealed in the end and then the full horror of Warhammer 40K begins to hit them and keeps hitting them for several movies. After they see the imperial guard fighting off tyranids, they think the big bad guy is established, until they meet chaos in the fourth movie. There is enough material for years and years worth of movies with stories interesting to both fans and newcomers.

I was only first made aware of this bioform when I picked up the Tyranid commander deck for Magic the Gathering; a Kelermorph named Ghyrson Starn. And well...I didn't know really anything about Starn or this bioform until this video, and I have a new appreciation for the card and this creature because of it! They usually just seem like canon fodder for the emperor’s army to look good killing or for any victory to be immediately undermined by their imminent death by consumption. What I love the most about GSC aside from the alien mad max aesthetic, is that they show that Tyranids have a deep understanding of human psychology and will absolutely exploit it. Give the unwashed and disparaged masses of the imperium some bread and circuses, and they'll be ringing the dinner bell of their doom!

Exactly, this intelligent side of the Hivemind brings the true horror of it to bear. It isn't some collective of dumb bugs. If anything, in one form or another it's as aware of its own existence as you or me. It views the myriad species it consumes as having the insignificance of ants and the purpose of roaming livestock. It's not cruel. Callous perhaps since it knows the extent of the sentience of those it eats but hey, it's hungry and if it doesn't consume the prey it can find then it'll starve to death. Can we really condemn it for wanting to live?

ahh the Kellermorph, my favorite of all the genestealers. My own has developed an infamous reputation among my game group. In turn one, he slayed the warboss of my opponent, only to disappear before the orks could retaliate. when he emerged again, he let loose a deluge of fire so strong that the greenskins could not ignore it, after 12 boyz were felled they finally charged. However, despite being stuck in melee, the kellermorph survived due to a lucky streak of invuln saves and a few nearby neophytes giving their lives to protect their heroes. It took three turns for the orks to eventually kill the gunslinger, but he died amongst a mountain of spent bullet casings and dead greenskins. Even so, he provided the distraction that allowed the cult to take the day and seize their objectives. Truly, the Kellermorph is a monster of heroic proportions, a living legend that serves a dark purpose. I have truly fallen in love with the juxtaposition of his being, that he encapsulates the classic wandering desperado hero, a knight errant with a gun, the six shooter ronin who saves the day...but this is all a facade, a carefully constructed monster meant to prey on humanity's want for heroes. The cult gives the people what they want, a hero who will lead them unto freedom...and into the gullet of their dark gods

I love Kelermorph's simply beacuse they slightly tap into an "Old West" aspect I really wish we had more of in Warhammer 40k. Obviously not going overboard with it but Imagine Cowboy Space Marines or a Cowboy Inquisitor!
