Number one pet peeve in all make up brands are, hyper sexualized names… Deep throat (Nars), glowjob(TF), you get it. So not necessary. Totally feeling you on the butter bronzer. I don’t use the mirror in there, but even if they wanted a mirror they could still use packaging like the Balm and put a mirror in the top of the lid. Packaging for that bronzer is terrible, and bulky, it breaks easily and I never bring it with me when I travel for that reason.

Too Faced has tone issues within their brand. They want to be hypersexual but they also want to be a cutesy brand. I love Too Faced but they need pick one!

I honestly don’t mind hyper sexual names that much. I think we are all adults here and it’s just something that exists in the world. Maybe that’s just me. I won’t be buying super sexualised names products for a child but if you’re a grown person using it then 🤷🏻‍♀️. I agree about Too Faced though. Don’t hypersexualise and infantalise something at the same time. That is weird because you’re marketing to children something that is not child friendly.

For that type of containers you can use it for storage for traveling!! You can put some cotton rounds there, pills! Earings!! Take away the sponge and put some jewlery!

I was going to comment the same thing. I just throw away the small cap that covers the spoolie. It won't get damaged not having a cap over it and once I've thrown that tiny cap away, there is no confusion over which cap goes to what. :)

For the mascara issue, I’m exactly the same as you, prefer drier formula’s, hate them drying up... so now I only buy the travel size mascara’s, & that way I use them up before they dry up!

I buy travel size ones from magazines. Usually Giorgio Armani eyes to kill mascara and ysl ones. Most magazines have travel size mascaras from those two, and they are gorgeous as hell! And cost like 6€ to me. So every two months I spend 6 € for a high end gorgeous mascara.

Another pet peeve: when a company keep the same price for a product type, but manipulates the size. Zoeva recently did it with their palettes. The new Unique Reflection looks exactly like their earlier palettes (and is the same quality) but the pans are shallower and there is 0.2-0.5g less product in each as compared to older palettes (I have Cocoa Blend, Rodeo Belle, Naturally Yours and Caramel Melange, and they all weight the same). They actually made their product expensive but didn't tell you. I also hate it when a product that is used up quickly and comes with a lot of additional stuff cannot be refilled, e.g. Hallo Flawless Foundation Puder from Benefit. That stuff is super expensive, gets used up within 3 months, and the packaging comes with a mirror, a brush and a flat application sponge. I can use the sponge, the brush and the mirror from the older package, I could use a refill cartridge only with the puder. (A company that makes it right: Artdeco. Almost everything can get refilled there)

Put a drop of castor oil into the mascara and it will extend the wear and nourish your lashes. Loved this video ♥ Elle PS - never use the mirror or brush in PF :-)

I share almost all these pet peeves! Brow pencils with the different size caps, especially. I get so irritated with myself when I smoosh my brow product with the wrong cap. Also, as far as ABH eye palettes, I have Soft Glam and Sultry. I love the packaging on Sultry SO much! With Soft Glam, I admit I get a little anxious when I'm using it because I'm intentionally trying to keep the velvet clean. I know it will drive me bonkers if/when it gets dirty. I almost never do my makeup at home because I prefer to sleep, and I like that the mirror in the Butter Bronzer because it's small enough to be hand-friendly and big enough I can see most of my face. But I agree, it IS bulky. I took out the sponge/brush it came in and glued the banana setting powder from Essence to make the best of the bulkiness =D

My too faced mascaras dry out really quickly too. I add a couple of drops eyedrops when they become too difficult to work with and they rehydrate nicely. :) I don't notice much change in the formula either.

I agree with all yours, especially those Butter Bronzer. My #1 is caps that fall off. I had a few lipsticks by Flower Beauty (that isn't in Canada anymore 😣) I LOVED, but the caps were so loose, so I couldn't put them in my purse, and even storing them normally thry would fly off. The lipsticks actually dried out.

I've been thinking the same thing about the butter bronzer!! I feel companies should really start to think about eliminating excessive plastic especially applicators! I dont know if you have tried this already but for me it really helps if you put the nozzle of your setting soray under the stream of warm water from the tap. It helos clear out the sticky dried up product and it will spray as new!!

If you like dry formula mascara and want one that lasts, try Collistar's Volume Unico. I had mine for 8 months before it became too dry for my upper lashes and now I still use it for my lower lashes. It's just a never-ending one. As for the eyebrow pencil cups - hell yeah, that's so annoying (Nyx Microbrow, I'm looking at you)

Kelly I also HATE when mascara dries up too quickly but all my favorites fall into this since I have downtuned straight lashes that get weighed down easily (just like EmilyNoel coincidentally) IT Cosm Super Hero, Lash Paradise, Mary Kay Ultimate, and Clinique High Impact. So what I have been doing for a couple months is layering a wet formula mascara as a "top coat" over one coat of whichever of those I have open at the time. I have found that Loreal Carbon Black is great for this as well as the curved wand version but I stopped buying it since I'm trying to be more cruelty free aware. I found another Mary Kay mascara that works really well for this method and they are cruelty free! Also... every butter bronzer clasp breaks like that!! All 6 of my sisters and SIL's have one and my Mom- all 7 have broken the same way yours did.

So I actually do use the butter bronzer applicator, but not for bronzer application! It’s perfect for touching up powder on the go. I actually dampen it and dip into my powder foundation to touch up later in the day without having to get out my beauty blender. Don’t knock it til you try it!

Perfect! Totally agree on these! My biggest one: I prefer retractable eyeliners with the "smudger" on the other end. I have used many many of them! The smudger pops off on every brand, EVERY time. Sometimes its the first time I pull the cap off, sometimes it takes a while, but it is certain. I have a Sephora pro one I liked, and the smudger was staying in tact, then it came out the other day, UGH I have one Milk liner that does not have the same type of design, so I am assuming this wont happen (hopeful) But, do I really have to pay over 20 for a liner not to do this? :)

TOTAL AGREE with the butter bronzer!!!! My packaging "clasp" broke on day two of owning it. AND the first thing I do when I get a new product is throw away the worthless applicator that comes with it. Such a waste. That bronzer could easily be five dollars cheaper and half the size.

You definitely can clean the ABH palettes, I just used the smallest amount of foam soap with a bit of water and lightly scrubbed with a suede shoe brush and let it dry, it cleaned perfectly. I haven't gotten anything on it besides shadow though.

I really enjoyed your take on this video ! I completely agree with the physicians formula packaging, so unnecessarily big and the latch on my bronzer doesn't latch anymore either. I find eye drops/contact solution gives my mascara a much longer life by adding a couple of drops to the tube when I feel it's too dry 😊❤️

Your video came up in my feed, and I love pet peeves in make-up so I strapped in. Now, you started with the Balm's packaging, and I kept thinking that their older packaging was bulkier, but I could not find examples, so i let it go. What i did find, and loathe to this day, is Benefit's Hoola blush and bronzer packaging in clunky cardboard (something I hate in Too Faced products as well). So you are off to a good start in my books (and don't let Too Faced get away with that diamond 'ring box' junk -they need to be brought into this century where each of us need to manage our carbon footprint, and they have been allowed by the consumer to pass the waste onto to us to dispose of). Nice video!

Makes me happy to see that I'm not the only one who gets really irritated over the smallest things related to makeup. lol & I agree that all my fav mascaras dry out too quickly because I like a dryer formula. That is why I refuse to buy a high end mascara anymore. I do have a few high end mascaras, but only because I got them in a boxycharm or something. I refuse to pay that much for a high end mascara and then it dries out in a month. It doesn't hurt as bad to repurchase a new one every month when I only have to pay $10 or less for the replacement.

The Dermalogica multi-active toner does the same thing as the All Nighter...that sprayer is so frustrating that I tend to not even use it very often. It's aggressive and then takes forever to be ready to use.

I also don't like when packaging isn't flush, but has a rounded curve to it like for baked blushes/bronzers sometimes the packing is curved, or with the laura geller and becca highlights. I store my cheek products up against each other so that weird shape makes it fall or roll out sometimes when I open my vanity drawer and it irks me lol.

I do use the brush from the PF powders... But not with the powders they come with. I love them for contour esp if I am contouring my nose. When I travel I will throw the brush in the PF packaging b/c it keeps it clean or into my favorite powders from PF when I carry it with me during the summer.

I have used mirrors in compacts that are on the lid, but never ever on the bottom of the pan. Those are completely useless in my opinion. If Physician's Formula just eliminated those mirrors, I feel like they could take 2 to $3 off the price of the product. And everybody would be happier, not to mention cutting down on landfill!

I thought of my Becca highlights when you were talking bulk 🙄I love them but I realized they were the biggest pain when I started to store them instead of leaving them on my vanity. They take up twice as much room. You cant even stack them because of the top. If the top was flattened just a bit, it would be better. I wish they’d repackage but I doubt it cause it’s iconic for them. Everyone knows their shape.

I’ve started buying travel/sample sizes instead of the full-size...that way I go through them before they expire or dry out.😊

That’s why I’ve stopped using dryer mascaras even though I love what they do for my lashes. I won’t buy better than sex anymore because it starts getting super flakey after two weeks. And I haven’t bought a lash paradise in awhile either. Have you tried the cover girl exhibitionist?

I don't have an issue with my mascara drying out, I can use minis for 3 months with no problem. I think there was 1 that was high end (Bobby Brown I think, it had a super big wand) and it did dry out in about a month, or ran out of product because the wand was so big. For wet mascara, I love Double Decker by Butter London. I got it in a Boxycharm about a year ago and I've held out on repurchasing due to minis but I want it in my life again SO BAD.

You could put eye drops in mascaras to make them last longer. I had my Loreal lash paradise lasting a good 4 months on me.
