It's so weird to me how they keep talking about him but he's not in these episodes. Shame that they couldn't get him back for this arc. I'm sure Jason would have been up for it.

@Pale Embers I mean I think he had already softened. He was already able to be deeply loyal to his crew in his own way that we saw of him to the point where his reversion to his "real" Terran self felt very flat compared to the nuanced, interesting and complex character we saw the whole rest of the season. It kind of baffles me how they basically did the exact same plot twice with Lorca and Georgiou.

@Pale Embers yeah but we didn't know that until the last couple of episodes where his character got shitty and one dimensional. None of that is in the episodes where he's got depth and nuance.

Such an interesting story because mirror Georgiou used to originally be in an environment like she's acting in, so she fits in easily, but she's also changed in some ways for the better.

Rewatching the Empire episodes from season 1, and I came to a few conclusions. 1 The reason Philippa knew Prime Michael wasn't her Michael, is because she killed her, around 2 years before that episode is set. 2 shortly after that happened, the Charon engaged the Buran, while Lorca was recruiting. When he tried to beam back, an ion storm his. Lorca ends up in the wreckage of the USS Buran, after the battle of the Binary stars. 3 Philippa hides Michael's death blaming an attack on Lorca, who has now gone missing.

The guy who runs the KZbin channel Trekyards says that we don't really know what happened to Prime Universe Lorca, although I'm under the impression that the show wants us to think that Mirror Lorca killed him.

Unfortunately, some people are far more interested in being negative than concentrating on something they enjoy. Then they often act surprised and get defensive when their negativity breeds negativity.

Not all haters hate discovery for everything it is. It looks fucking great. The sets, costumes,. makeup, VFX.... It just sucks that it has pathetic dialogues, shallow writing and low quality.

@@arav13 exactly...it is set in the universe we love, the production values are high...but then it fails to deliver in terms of writing. Some people just don't get it...some of us love star trek and crave more. And it isn't like the sci-fi space exploration genre gets a lot of shows, since they cost more to produce than other genres. I'm just sad to see that nutrek writers are putting generic drama tv stories into a star trek show. The franchise and budget deserve better.

A thought provoking exchange, well up to what we're used to in Discovery. The slightest change in direction of strong willed people can make universes shake. Or course confronting the Terran Empire began back in the Original Series in "Mirror, mirror."
