@Andrei James Of course you can use the Stage. In fact, you can use whatever poweramp you want. I use an unpowered Kemper with a 25W Camplifier Studio and it does sound stellar. Check out the official manual by Kemper if you're confused.

If you have a Kemper you can try out the Kemper Kone imprints. Install the new firmware and try a speaker. I used my Boogie Thiele cab with a Mesa Black Shadow MC-90. Yeah, not a Kab/Kone but it does work. Made the Thiele sound much better than stock. Even works into my Yamaha DXR10's on the monitor out. I like it. Probably not enough to shell out $500 for a 1x12. I'm really happy with my DXR's and the addition of the Kab imprints is sweet.

Can u explain how u can bypass your cab for an imprint? Do u need direct profiles to use an imprint?

IMPORTANT FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS: Firstly, bought your everything pack and love your profiles. Question- can a different speaker imprint be STORED for each rig in a performance? You know better than most of us that each amp sounds better/different with certain speakers and it would be a shame if you have to stop and go to the output section every time you select a new rig-if you're playing live, that would be a nightmare and how would you remember which imprint works better for which rig. BTW-for those of you that own the Powertrain MBritt or ValveTrain Powertrain 50, the Kone imprints sound great(unfortunately, I won't be using imprints if I have to go to the output section every time I use another rig). I am hoping I am completely wrong and there is a way to store imprints for each rig. Big thank you to HW for all the great stuff you do for us!!!

Thank you for these videos, I am learning a lot. I'm an old guy with tube amps. I have been researching the Kemper Stage and Kemper Kone Kab as a replacement for carrying around my amps. Can you give a list of good power amplifiers to use with this Kemper combination. I have seen other reviews that are not too complimentary on the quality of the amplifier in the Kemper Powered Profiler. I would think that a powered Kemper Kone Kab might have the same shortcomings. A dedicated power amp of good quality might be the way to go. I do a lot of group jams and small clubs where a small portable fender or Mesa tube amps and pedals are the norm.

I've been seeking the "amp in the room" tone from Kemper since I bought it several years ago. Based on the review by ToneJunkie I bought the mission gemini 2 and found it to be nothing at all like an amp in the room. I've tried everything, including running the kemper through several tube amps and it's still not close to an amp in the room. Kemper is great for live use, decent for recording and I'm very skeptical that the current technology will ever produce authentic "amp in the room" tone... especially for high gain.

Ben Feddersen Amp in the room to me would be producing an authentic tube amp response in both sound and feel. Through monitors vs a mic’ed cab Kemper is nearly identical to a real tube amp. But for example, if I use high quality Princeton reverb profiles through a clean high headroom tube amplifier, I don’t get the same quality experience as if I was plugged directly into my real Princeton. High gain forget about it, it’s not close.

Got my Kemper Kabinet today & yes the profiles sound great using the imprints, but my concern is the main signal out to FOH, i.e, original profiled cab tone won’t sound as good to the audience? The clarity etc. will be different? Still not sure why the imprint tone won’t work well mic’d, I’ve not tried it yet but of course it’s not recommended by Kemper! What’s even more confusing is all the on-line demo’s are mic’d, so what’s the difference when stage mic’ing tone to FOH?

So, the Kabinet/Kone settings work with all profiles? It isn't a special made profile? If profiles are made from milking the cabinets, how does it know what is speaker and what is amp? German engineering magic is an acceptable answer! HW you do awesome work, maybe you can explain in a future video?

OK so I’ve just ordered a Kone BUT I’ve 2 important questions: 1) kemper’s online/PDF manual says their Kone is NOT suitable for Close Miking! Is this true?! IF it IS then this deprives me of my most used micing technique... 2) I want to profile just my favourite Burns Super Orbital speaker so I can ‘impose it’ over a separate ‘Amp Only’ profile but H0W? There are a lot of YT Vids showing how to model a Pre Amp AND Pwr Amp AND Speaker AND Mic but not a Speaker Cab on it’s own -with or without a particular Mic... 😢

Any news (or have you heard) of an active Kemper Kabinet version like HeadRush is doing? If you get the HeadRush Pedalboard (which in my opinion is quite good), you have the choice now, for an additional $350 you can have a fairly decent FRFR (flat response) 1x12 cabinet/monitor that sounds pretty good. I know Kemper can do better with higher quality, no doubt. Not at the $320-$350 price range probably, but certainly be competitive for those who own and prefer the Kemper Stage version. No mean to compare by any means, both are good (for their target market), but I believe Kemper is better for me. Someone might think differently, and that's ok. But again, I mean, having the Kemper Stage (which is awesome) and not being able to plug it into a superb Kemper Kone would be such a bummer. I really don't like the "toaster" and besides not willing to pay $2,500 plus an extra $700-$800 a the remote? Thanks, man. Cheers from Costa Rica.

The Kone is not meant to change the signal sent to FOH. It's just for getting the amp in the room feel for people who monitor through a cabinet. Kemper has stated you really don't want to mic this cabinet to send to FOH based on what the imprints are doing.

No, it is a flat non-coloring loudspeaker, it's purpose is to sound flat to then allow applying a certain frequency response curve from an actual guitar speaker (which is stored in the Kemper) like a Celestion V30. This cabinet is more like a PA speaker (1-Way) than an actual guitar speaker. Plugging your amp straight into this cabinet will sound like plugging an amp into a PA speaker which will not sound good to most people's ears.

Directivity has to do with the tonal dispersion. At 10, it is closest to the real world speaker.

Real tube amps are very cool to be sure and you should own as many as you can afford. However, if I had to choose, I'd go with the Kemper every time, especially if you plan on gigging or recording. Just know you're going to get a mic'd amp sound unless you get the Kab or Kone, but at least that's an option now.
