As soon as I heard that the cops lost the tape, I was thinking they know something. I wouldn't be surprised if they are turning a blind eye to the trafficking or involved at some extent.

i listen to so many trafficking stories, and i know the police is often dumb and negligent. but there is no shot in hell that they are THIS naive and negligent. i completely agree with you, i think many police departments are very much aware of and involved in human trafficking. it's the only way this asinine behavior makes even a little sense

I know that phrase gets thrown around a lot: “someone knows something”. But when you really think about what it means, it’s mind boggling. Someone - right now - is going about their daily business with this absolute burden of knowledge. They probably follow the case. They may even be watching this video. I just can’t imagine carrying around a secret like that and not having guilt eat me alive. Insane to think there’s people out there capable of holding in such heavy secrets and behaving totally normal day in and day out.

Gosh the other day there was a taco bell video ans someone commented about being a manager at a taco bell...someone responded to their comment and said "im 2003 I watched a girl get dragged away behind the dumpsters at a taco bell and I never did anything about it" and it has stuck with me since I've read it. It's a scary world. If they would have reported it, lord knows what they could have helped not happen.

Y'all keep forgetting that Precinct 4 covers a huge area and the official buildings were ruined in the flooding of Hurricane Harvey. A LOT of things were lost. I'm not making excuses for the everyday incompetence of Precinct 4, but incompetence does not automatically mean sinister or conspiracy. It's hard enough on the families of missing loved ones without baseless speculations about the cops being in on it.

My neighbor in our duplex lost her mother and 17 year old daughter in a car wreck down the road from our house. They got T-boned where the back road intersected the highway. My neighbor TOLD her daughter to go that way just that morning, bc it was safer than the other way you could get to the highway. And it should have been, there was a traffic light. But the guy that hit them was drunk and ran the light. I’ll never forget hearing my neighbor and her husband through the walls. Wailing doesn’t even begin to describe the sound… the guilt they must have felt… I was a new mother and it hit me hard. They spent all the money they would have spent on Christmas that year on my son. ❤rest in peace Kaitlin and Robin❤

They are both entered into Ncic as missing people but runaway is noted. Without a doubt they focus more on an endanagered person versus a teen who runs all the time but both should still be entered in Ncic so that if they are found anywhere in the country it is known that they were reported missing. We definitely had our regular runaways when I worked for the department but they still need to be entered whether being a suspected runaway or not for this very reason.

Sadly I feel they didn't ignore the family but blatantly avoided them as much as possible, blatantly stalled filing Ali as a missing person in proper timeframe, blatantly and nonchalantly dismissed the family's concern and belief that she wasn't a runaway. They carelessly got rid of any evidence, procrastinated on any evidence handed into them and made it quite obvious they weren't going to bite the hand that feeds them, taking months to get SW'rnts that weren't even required for MsngPrsns cases, esp Endangered types. The only time they gave the pretense of 'helping' was just as a smoke screen so the media could sell their superficial shovel load to the masses and quash any leads that got too close to the truth they knew so well. How ridiculous saying trafficked kids are known for stealing and their prints are in the system...but no-one bothers helping them return to their families or to catch and lock away these sickos. Runaway teenagers didn't you say? Pockets and Pensions are definately full and enforced with silent gleefull vigour. But this is all just mis dis regurgitated MSM fake news information...you gotta follow da science and know howta count. 1+1= Just a teenage tiff runaway, nothin to see here!!!!!!! I'm so sorry that very few have heard and helped to find some kind of closure for you and her friends and family and the only law enforced in that town 'seems to be' enabling silently. Every time I hear about police negligence in these cases, it makes me wonder how many of these missing person cases (and others) would have been solved if they actually took the concerns of the victim's loved ones seriously and did their jobs from the get go. It breaks my heart.

I live about 15 minutes from here and I've never heard of this case!! I'm horrified and shocked! Lived here all my life. The cops botched this all up. Thank you for bringing attention to her! Praying for the family 💖🙏🏼

As a 911 dispatcher, these police departments infuriate me. I know how much goes into ANY missing persons call that comes in. Literally chopper, K9, 5,6,7,8 deputies the second the call goes in. I’ve NEVER seen or heard of a police dept say to call the next day or they must’ve ran away. Not since before the 24 hour rule was abolished. That’s crazy.

I just don’t understand why it’s so difficult to just put them into NCIC OR TCIC or whatever your state crime info center is…

Being a dispatcher for a smaller department, I will say that this is not the same response we give just for the simple fact we don't have all those resources. I can say in Texas, a runaway has to be entered into TCIC/NCIC within 2 hours of a report being taken. Any officers available, which is only about 3-4 usually here, will start canvassing the area or last known locations. On a busy shift this sometimes just isn't possible though. Our officers will at least e-mail the entry sheet to us in dispatch if they're so busy they can't get back to the PD so at least we can get them entered and we also send a regional message to local agencies to be aware of.

Love hearing from Ali’s mum. Such a brave wonderful mum. It’s clear she adored and loved her so so much. My heart breaks for her. It’s her story. Her daughter. Her pain. Let’s not forget that

i don't like to go into conspiracy mode and i already never trust police but whenever cases are handled THIS poorly it just gives me an eerie feeling that the cops know more than they let on or are involved somehow. either way, it's downright evil the way they have treated this case and this family and i hope they feel the pressure to act ASAP

a very valid conclusion, however we have to remember that police stations will intentionally hire the absolute dumbest mf’ers they can find because they are better at maintaining status quo, less likely to ever question orders, and are more prone to violence and escalation. of course “nOt AlL cOpS” but enough that this is a nationwide epidemic. though if it comes out that a retired officer or even one on duty harmed this child and the rest of the precinct was covering up for them i would 100000% not be surprised. just disgusting all around.
