people should know that most good rappers don't want to rush their albums, they are forced to produce a certain amount of products for their labels and studios. At the end of the day, music is money, studios can't afford to spend millions of dollar signing an artist that makes 2 songs a year. They have to milk that guy as long as he is still famous, good thing Kendrick's label understand his value.

I think he partially feels this way, but also since he's a perfectionist he probably also listens to the album thinking how much it's going to emotionally impact us. Just delivering bars is 'easy', but to paraphrase what what he said to make a kid want to not do something like killing someone seems to be more important to him. Either way, we know whatever is coming will be incredible as a final product.

@@patrickmcgrade6699 Kendrick doesn’t sound old school at all. He’s a highly intelligent modern artist. He’s just lyrical. I guess that’s what you like. Straight lyricism. To Pimp A Butterfly sounds nothing like old school. Nor DAMN. If you only associate lyricism with old school rap then you’re wrong. Kendrick is by far the most original and most creative hip hop artist of the modern generation. Kanye is close. But he lacks the lyrical skill.

Here after the release of "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers", I feel like Kendrick utilizes taking years off more than any other artist I can think of, sure Frank Ocean is also a recluse, but I would argue that Kendrick has the ability to observe and write about current events in society and juxtapose it to how he grows as a person and his ever evolving perspectives. Really loved the video and the song also with swimming pools. Okay 2 songs from this guy not bad. Searching his name on KZbin at the time then comes one of his songs from his previous works "cut you off" and one of my favorites "cartoons and cereal". The 1st song was great way to tell his plan for the future and what he has do to continue his path to success, I was bit sad that yes cutting off certain people in your life is the answer to your own success story. With the 2nd song it's that feeling with your boys on a car pump into with a message behind it. This is how he introduces me to his world(the hood).

Beautiful way to honor an artist that comes about maybe only once in a generation. Grateful to have been alive to see it.

What's so good about this is that I watched part one of this documentary thinking there wasn't going to be a part 2. I must've forgotten. So I c this on my recommended and I just think oooo another Kenrick Lamar documentary, I GOTTA watch that. I always find them so interesting. and then BOOM here I am watching the sequel to an extremely great project highlighting my favorite music artist. Great job, and I hope more people see this video very soon. This needs to be shared. People need to c this if they've unfortunately not come across Kendrick Lamar's music.
