So wonderful when an unknown (to me anyway) interview with Kenneth turns up. So quick, so captivating.

A remarkable talent and such a fascinating man. I enjoyed him in the Carry On films 📼 as well as his appearances in the early years of Just a Minute. He was a master raconteur and a great presence on screen. Thanks for the memories Kenneth ❤ 😊

A magnificent talent and a genuinely lovely man. One of those people who if you invited him round your house for a Christmas party, there's no doubt he'd be the best guest in the house. To this day, I never tire of watching the Carry On films he was in. A very likeable chap indeed ❤ 😊

A joy to listen to and always so learned and articulate. Ken's in very good humour here, so much so that on the basis of this interview, makes you wonder how he got such an acerbic reputation.

Kenneth was a complex guy, very mercurial could change quite literally with a click of the fingers, but an interesting interview was actually when he was with Bernard Manning, and for some reason the two just sparked off each other with mutual respect

How is that strange? You talk as though they should have hated each other.

@@rnw2739 Bernard from Manchester, Kenneth from London. Perhaps you don’t even understand the humour in the 70s Bernard was always painted particularly by the southern left as the enemy of the people, and particularly against southerners and the gays, and of course we won’t mention about ethnics but that was just Bernard’s humour?

When the great Kenneth Williams says they he means the producer. Peter Rogers, who was a disgusting human being who totally exploited them financially, and He made millions from the series and never paid them any royalties whatsoever, and he used to like to buy himself a new Rolls-Royce every year apparently?
@faithmapstone99828 ай бұрын
Unfortuntely, Kenneth gave a lot of laughs& joy. Yet couldn't find it himself ❤
@tonggao088 ай бұрын
Yes, but he had offered them a choice of a one-off payment or royalties at the outset. The actors opted for the former. Harsh though.
@WILLIAM1690WALES8 ай бұрын
@@tonggao08 no, you do not understand it was a one off payment take it or leave it. There were no options you need to study more, and if you complained you were then not in the next film that could apply to any of the top actors.

Yes Peter Rogers was a regarded very stingy, even stating that the actors who worked on the Carry Ons "could have anything they wanted except more money", what you might not know though is that when he died he left all his money to the actors benevolent fund
