Tyler just needs to put his greed and pride to the side and hire writers. He's writing the same material with different settings and characters. If these directors are going to continue doing these "erotic thrillers," can they please get an actual objectively hot guy to play the hot weirdo creepy guy? That's the one thing 365 Days did right. I'm not saying the Mea Culpa guy is unattractive. He just looks like an average guy. I'm not convinced he's so irresistibly hot or s3xy where an attorney would risk her bar card to smash. On a positive note, Kelly Rowland's wigs were on point. Either she did her own hair or TP actually put some money on the wig budget instead of making them himself.

I couldn't wait to hear your prospective. Tyler said he was inspired by 90s erotic thriller movies such as Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction & Jagged Edge. Those movies are wayyyy better than TP. This movie had too holes in the story, the characters were not fully developed & at time predictable. Kelly did good for this to be her first serious lead role but she deserved a way better script. I was disappointed with this movie as a whole.

Perry also has this way of taking credible legitimate actors and making them look like the highest level they have is high school play like that man was in Moonlight. He was in the movie that won best picture Oscar that year. He was nominated for an Oscar And he's just the most unsexy uncarismatic creep he also likes to do this thing like "see, you never know who it could be or what's really going on underneath the surface of a person or people" and it's very uninteresting and it's never the gotcha that he thinks it is
@Yasmine110116 ай бұрын
The way it's packaged for western TV series just feels so voyeuristic. It's gratuitous. Like "here's your female empowerment look how sex positive they are, jk, it's really just sexualization of women on screen for the male gaze". It’s just porn at this point. Nudity for shock and has no purpose whatsoever. Relationships take time to develop and that you can enjoy the chemistry between the leads without it jumping straight to 3 episodes in and they are already having intense love scenes. I like clapping in excitement when they have their first kiss well into the run of the show, because it feels earned and real and not just a result of hormones.
@GAshoneybear6 ай бұрын
I think this premise could have worked if they focused more on the execution (no pun intended) of the family trying to ruin their lives such as: - How they got the girl to agree to use her blood and bone fragments - How they got a hospital/treatment center to agree to send fake itemized statements to unsuspecting hapless idiot couple. - How the DA convinced a judge that there was no issue with the defendant sleeping with his spouse.

Okay, from 36:20 on, I think this might possibly be the first BM&AB where things got *so* convoluted and nonsensical that despite your admirable attempt at untangling it I still had to rewind to hear it all again because wait, so when did-- no, but why would they-- and how could he possibly have-- WHAT IS HAPPENING, and most importantly WHOSE BLOOD AND SKULL IS THAT. This certainly was a series of scenes played in a sequential order. 700k well-deserved! These are some of my biggest comfort videos, you've got this great way of both story- and retelling while infusing it with your own vibe and humour. Though I also love that you don't shy away from more serious topics and call them out when presented in the movies you cover (I still remember that one boss move where you switched to Korean to rip the director of that weird rap battle movie-in-a-movie 'film' to shreds over its casual use of slurs and... well the entire insult that was that movie, tbh). Good Movies & A Glam, too, always happy when one of those drops, though I usually don't watch them until I've seen them myself. I *really* loved your two-parter on The Skin I Lived In; I hadn't heard of it before, but as I recall I got a few minutes into your first video, realised this definitely sounded like a film I'd like to watch, so I put it on hold until I'd gathered the courage. Excellent film. Half of me immediately wanted to rewatch it with all that recontextualisation; the other did NOT want to touch it again for at least a good year because damn, there was some brutal and triggering stuff in there. Your videos scratched that itch of wanting to think about it more without having to rewatch it. And to close this all off I low-key love that we've slowly gotten to a point where you're not even commenting on whether your make-up's already on. That's CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, PEOPLE. Anyway yeah will hand in my next essay at 1M look forward to it

if Tyler Perry not gon learn about lawyerism I need him to stop making all his characters lawyers and attorneys lol the fact the whole plot hinges on Zahair being convicted of a crime where the main evidence tying him to said crime completely falls apart bc how TF you gon have someone prosecuted for murder and there’s no body and then never explain where the evidence came from, Tyler Perry PLEASE get more ppl the writers room there’s no reason to be fumbling the plot THIS bad 😭

He seems to also like making himself a Dr and knows nothing about medicine.

I hate to be the the well actually person, but... there have been cases where no-body murder convictions have occurred (in the US) so its not 100% impossible because it *has* happned before. but I don't expect Tyler perry to execute such a scenario in a way wherein that becomes the movies strength rather than its weakness
@seroquelz6 ай бұрын
He's so unimaginative he can't think of a way to introduce characters, plot lines, or narratives w/o his usual, tired bag of tropes. I think he makes everyone lawyers bc it's an easy shortcut to #1 introduce his characters to people they otherwise might never meet, #2 an easy way to explain wealth and a flexible schedule, and #3 automatic character assumptions based on what the audience already generally knows abt lawyers (smart, assertive, clever, duplicitous, et al). He doesn't have to spend as much time developing them further so he can rush through the script.
@LifeOfTheAngels6 ай бұрын
@@seroquelzI honestly think he writes his scripts starting with making character A a lawyer then making a convoluted story around the character being a lawyer

THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP! It aggravated me that everyone said she was "the best" and extremely intelligent. Then Tyler Perry make her make a gazillion mistakes and then no true opportunity for her to show her "greatness" and show off her lawyer chops. I am convinced Tyler Perry hates women lol.

@@darkkittie099 💯 ‼️ 🎯 exactlyyyy lol. I agree Tyler does not write to uplift women at all. This movie was pretty long to not do any character development 😩 maybe it should've been like a mini series. Soap operas seem to be his thing.
