What's with all the 'slow timing/delivery' comments? Hasn't anyone heard of deadpan, or how intentionally pausing can make it funnier? The fact that it gives you a couple more seconds to think about what they're reallyy saying, &/or let the impact of it set in, --just makes it stronger. And more memorable. You might just remember the comedian's face because of that, other than just how 'snappy' some random new comedian was for two minutes. And sometimes 'slower' just = having a conversational pace. Which can often translate to just being more relatable. Instead of just being mostly about being quippy, & trying to buy your laugh. So being a little more relatable, grows your fan base more.. Or rather, maintains it, with actual continuity. In the big picture of it all, I think comedians who pause at times, I think have more ~intention~ about what they're doing, and are often smarter, to an extent. There are many snappy quippy comedians I just barely remember.

Whoah, so many younger comedians are obviously heavily influenced by Louis C.K.. I´ve seen quite a few recently and many of them show similiar mimics and gestures as Louis does. It would already be awkward if he had died lately, but considering why he´s "out of the game", it´s almost creepy.
