Always been illegal to engage in a non sanctioned racing event out there. We we're the guys jumping into the sand drags at the start line...doing like 50 then land out in the whoops and wheelie it as far as you can. The lakeside gangsters, with no off-road toys of there own, came out to start some shit one weekend and beat a peace officer to near death I believe. The next year they had a real tank and guys with real submachine guns ..one year ..then they a got paint ball guns..with cayenne and glow balls that marked their perp...we also were the guys in the lifted trucks with the couch on toolbox on back .I had couch mounted to roof of my snow camo blazer one year..usually a recliner in the back..was a bitch to dune with couch on my roof lol.. .fun at the hill though...anyway ..so from our vantage point we watched a lot of shit go down..

The last time I got race gas in CA they wanted my vin number. Wanted to know what sanctioned racing event this was going to burned in and what days did I plan on running it and how long did I expect it to take to burn the 5 gallons..C12...my normal race fuel of choice. Needless to say I live far away now .2 strokes are legal on the street where I am now..race gas at the gas station...not c12...but.

I've never sat on one these before. I don't see them too often on the trails. Can somebody with experience please tell me if this machine is larger then say a blaster or 300ex. Is it large enough to comfortably accommodate a 6'2" 190lb rider? How does it compare to the size of a banshee?

It's bigger then blaster and 300ex. Way lighter then Yamaha 450. They sell desert tall seats for taller riders. The seat height is ok for regular size peeps. Once you get it dialed in they are super reliable. I road one for 2 seasons on same top end. I ride just about every weekend.

Juan pablo Cabrera, the engine is based off the CR250, but not the same. One of the big differences is the ATV engine is counterbalanced and the bike engine is not.

8 paddle 21" extremes on 8" wheel. I'm a big believer in low paddle count. Paddles take power to turn and only help you out of the hole. They hurt you in the higher gears.If I were to do it again, I'd order directly from Skat Trak. 21" Haulers on 8" wheel. Shaved bead to bead (lighter) and either 8 paddle or maybe even 7 paddle.

Seriously..from a guy who has thousands of 2 stroke motor builds. ...you use the clutch to start in 1st and stop..that's about it ...... Also when you want 70+ hp and a few thousand more rpm let me know...all honda parts...on gas. C12...not alky..... Just hook up a no lift shift....your wasting time with that clutch ..omg...if you drag race this much too get your launch limiter and I hate to give out the secret ....dude your not even getting 6th... If you like to drag...cut a custom chain for the gearing for drag racing?. Most guys I smoked up oldsmobile or comp are in 3rd maybe 4th..I'm in 5th topped out at the top of oldsmobile with my drag gearing..want to run sand highway and shut dudes down there? Change chain and slap on some gear... I will also let you know that don't listen to anyone on carb size. In a race motor we ran 40mm and bigger on a 250...twin 38's on stock banshee. I'm telling you ..pwk/ Dgj or dgk needle...172 main,50 pilot,middle clip position. Good start for sea level trx250..we made 67 and 72 horse on our 2 trx motors...we then went to cr..we like nikisil cylinders and newer 2002 case induction for power. I could put one of those in your quad too. Or a streetbike motor and be done .lol

There's something wrong with that Raptor 700, or that 250r isn't stock at all. A raptor 700 should eat a 250r in a drag race stock vs. stock. My raptor isn't anything special, just the cheapest EFI tuner I could get, cheapest full dual exhaust (big gun Evo R $500ish some are over $1,000), removed airbox lid, with a big K&N filter and intake adapter and it's nasty fast. It's not even close to fully upgraded and it's as fast as I would want it, may put a higher compression piston and a cam in one day, but it's fast enough. No way any remotely stock 250r could keep up in a drag... On an MX track, 250r all day long would own it, but not in a drag race.

@@Kennyrooo I don't mean to be a dick (I haven't had my personal bike dynoed) but raptor 700's with similar mods are in the mid 50's HP at the wheels. Dirtwheels did a shootout of a 2009 450r vs 1989 250r back on 09' both quads had fresh motors, and had an aftermarket pipe, and holeshot tires... The 450r made 42 horsepower and the 250r I think was 36... So how can your "stock" 250r be pulling on Raptor 700's? So I still have to think either something is wrong with that raptor, or your R isn't really "stock"...

And I'll ad... That I have read posts from Carlos at BDT Motorsports who builds some really mean 250r engines... Saying that most 330-350 big bore R's don't get much above 50 horsepower at the wheels, without being ported by a professional... So I'd have to think a stock bore and stroke 250r engine would have a very hard time making Raptor 700 power without race gas and a ton of money spent on port work, a very well designed pipe, well matched and perfectly sized and tuned carburetor, and CR250 ignition (which is supposedly good for a few more horses over the stock TRX ignition, but you lose the ability to run lights).
