This video of Kent looks quite old. Since these good ol' days Kent's been in prison for 9 years for tax evasion. He's had 3 wives, a domestic violence allegation, he's harboured a child sex offender at his compound and the offender had a young boy sleeping in his bed, a child drowned in his lake... This is not an exhaustive list.. . I've seen parts of his dawktoral dissertation and it looks like it was written by a grade 4 student. Kent hasn't changed his script since this video. KZbinr Planawalk had made the case that Hovind should be a Flat Earther considering his rationale for rejecting a round Earth is no different from his rejection of Evolution. It's actually a case I have made for any psedoscience apologist no matter what science they wish to deny. The dilemma boils down to the apologist can either accept Flerf and be wrong, or they can reject Flerf and be a hypocrite.
@Diviance

If it helps, Hovind is also a sovereign citizen (though he doesn't bandy it about as much as his pseudoscience views). His sovcit beliefs are part of why he ended up in prison for structuring. Sadly, that isn't even the worst thing Hovind has done. He defends a pedophile regularly and allows him into his park (which is where said pedophile did the crime that got him convicted) with children around (and even brought in a child with said pedophile).

The fact is Octopuses are really the smartest most adaptable animal ever. And they would leave humans in their wake if they had a longer life span. It's probably why
@jdarmin
@jdarmin Ай бұрын
there's a lot that limits them, though. for example, one of the greatest leaps in mankind's history was the taming of fire, which led to all kinds of discoveries such as metal forging and the like. This led to vast improvements in man's history. The fact that the octopus evolved to live in water is just a bad draw of cards from the deck. By the books I've read it seems unlikely they will be able to make any developments on this front. I've read some science fiction that speculated on alien species that still managed to develop things like metal forging by using thermal vents and such, but it seems like this would be a little far fetched lol as smart as they are, it's really unfortunate they're water animals. who knows how far they could have gone???

The thing that baffles me is the inability to see that what you judge to be a “kind” depends on the data. Root mammals _were_ only one kind; it was _after_ they had split into distinct species that those species evolved into cats and dogs and elephants and walruses. So what he is saying is actually true(!), but it was _also_ true in the past, _which is how evolution works._
@Angelmou
@Angelmou Ай бұрын
I like to remind all people you are capable of nailing creationists to their very own holy book. The bible for example says: Leviticus 11: 22 _Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind_ In the hebrew original of the bible the _Harbeh, (Ha)Solam and Hagab_ ( הָֽאַרְבֶּ֣ה & הַסָּלְעָ֖ם & הֶחָגָ֖ב ) migratory/swarming locusts of Egypt. Creationists claim therefore: locusts, bald locusts and grasshoppers (or the 3 "breeding" "variations" of the swarming locusts Harbeh,Solam and Hagab of egypt in that time period) shall be *created kinds / after his/their kind* by GOD. Or the bible would with "created" "Kind" - bara min not be literally word by word correct. So basically: The biblical God spoke an _incantation spell_ and "poof" there was a bald locust/ or more precise the Hagab swarming locust KIND (depending on translation from the old hebrew dialect) and it shall be absolute word by word truthful in that matter. The term kind comes from the hebrew original of the bible bará (בָּרָא‎, he created / the lord created) and min ( מִין‎, "kind"). To speak "Kinds" into existence by God's magic/miracles instead of actually observable biological mechanism in big technical details (like the observable shifting of allele frequencies in actual biology.) However REALITY shows observable that locusts, grasshoppers, kathylids, crickets and all swarming locust species of egypt from Solam to Hagab etc. are evolved variations of Orthoptera locusts and subclades of insects, anyway. That is the very reason why bald locusts and grasshoppers are still locusts (as their variations) and why locusts in general are ALSO still insects. As insect "variations" in Hovindian tone to use. That is why evolution is true and the bible authors making up the bible did not have a clue about biology. The historical background about this Leviticus passage example was people to be aware of different hatching and starvation risk cycles and to allow to eat those who eat your harvest. So to speak: Ah dang you are blessed by the lord himself for eating those nasty different but similar created critters stealing your harvest, despite of using locusts swarms as plague in another part of the bible. For the same reason bats are seen as "fowls/birds" in Deuteronomy and Leviticus as well. The bible also made the mistake to claim insects or "crawling things" have 4 feet instead of 6 as hexapoda - because the very first insect species were once a hexapoda "broodstock" variation alongside of springtails (formerly falsely classified as true insects). Creationists like the Hovindboy makes the funniest excuses for that specific part of the bible like mentioning a mantis to have technically 4 legs as 2 are there to hunt so he tries to argue somehow all originally created insects would be some sort of mantis with razorsharp hunting frontlimbs, despite of death not to be there in the garden of Eden interpretation of the story by him to maintain the evangelical christian dogma that humans brought death into the world by eating the fruit. Just having effective assassination bugs around, ready to strike for decoration somehow. A more profound error in a literal creationist reading is in the book of genesis chapter 7 with the story of noah's ark and the dove as clean kind to fly away and back with a twig in the dove kinds beak to indicate the flood is over, also repeated later. This is also found in deuteronomy as well. With the birds like the owls and the little owl as "kind" or the dove too as clean kind. Evolution is actually true, because the dove is still a bird variation a subset of columbidae birds and not any ex nihilo created dove kind incarnated as it is today to fake its birdness and pigeoness for some deceit reason. The bible is also false, because humans are seen as created like they are today with faking the apeness instead of still being apes as they actually still are alongside of chimps and bonobos as our cousins. If the bible would be true we would as humans still be clay/dirt/dust people like Adam(ah) made out of dirt of clay or dust (depending on the translation) animated by a life giving magical breathing called "rua(c)h" (רוּחַ) in the hebrew original. This is sometimes translated as spirit or more commonly as soul - this is why the ruach breathing is the besouling breathing in that mythological theme. The wind deity to animate or possess the earth figurines. The idea behind this is that breathing is invisible and magical (oxygen was unkown at the time the pagan mythology where the bible was copied from) so was the reason why we are breathing and how the lungs or blood works totally unkown beside that when you can't breath the life runs out. This is why plants or fish were not seen breathing with the naked eye and that is also why fruits and herbs and vegetables should nonliving food at the time before the sinfall event took place, where death was not in the world (to their interpretation) completely missing the point that plants and even their fruits/seeds are of course living cells, also breathing, but not be seen with the eyes of a bronze age observer. We as humans are made out of cells - like the first cell lifeform are we still like any other lifeform a cell subvariation. From the banana trees to the elephants are all still variations of eukaryote cells and remain cell structures. So to use the term loosely it is like that all animals, plants and fungi are still the "eukaryote kind". ;-) No one is today a dirt or clay or dust person like a golem monstrosity walking around infused by a magical spirit sometimes called soul as animation like the old book authors fantasized back the day.

This is like claiming that your uncle shall be poofed into being, because reality like the readable DNA heridity record shall not mean anything as everything and everyone shall be a deceit and the world could have been made as it is just 7 days ago by magic with all memories as such deceit. You know that you can't just declare the past & its readable heritage record with its readable common descent order to be open to be denied just for your personal faith. You wish your Ego and your subjective willpower feelings shall overrule over reality. Truth is independently of you to be even born correct. For example it was true that forests existed in the year 1700 long before you were born. So was dog breeding also the real deal before your very Ego existed in this world (despite you to be in denial of it in another post where you wrote "The different breeds of dogs were separately created." ) as you do not have any authority to just bear false witness about hard working humans. But you act that way for years without learning anything.

Nobody knew what the opposite color of white was so the artists avoided painting white on white. The opposite color of white is baby blue and baby pink. The first artist to figure it out was Norman Rockwell. I was the second artist to figure it out. I saw it in the corner of a white room. The lighting was perfect to see it.

It's so funny when Hovind claims that a dog and a banana are not related. Go back far enough through ancestry and anything is related. Go back far enough and a Chameleon and a Triceratops are related. Go back far enough and a horse and grass are related. Go back far enough and a tree and a giraffe are related. Go back far enough and me and Hovind are related... Oh no what have I done! Just realised I'm related to Hovind... What do I do... Please help.

Hi mate, greetings from the UK. Probably the best example on earth of what a 'catastrophic flood' can do is the topography of the "Channeled Scablands" of Eastern Washington which show ripples, channels and mounds across a huge area of land, which were caused at the end of the last ice age when glacial melt waters broke through massive ice dams, holding back vast lakes of melt water which had built up on the glaciers to the North of the region. Hovind still uses these pathetic arguments to the present day because he knows his followers will always fall for them.

The word "science" in Timothy is archaic- it's an Anglicized (or rather Gallicized" form of the Latin scientia, or knowledge, which in turn is a translation of the Greek gnosis.

In physics matter and energy cannot make or direct themselves. So there was a time when matter and energy were made as well as time itself since measurable time can’t exist without a great amount of matter. This means there was a time when time was made in the not too distant past. This shows that every physical thing is the result of a Creation. Only your Creator can perfectly cover for you Himself and remake you again from the inside out by the power of His true word as no one else ever can. This is the only absolute truth in existence.

23:00 when asked about the out of Africa hypothesis along with the obvious incest problem and the diversity problem are all questions YEC "scientists" can't answer, they usually say "our scientists are working on it," because they can't say it happened without appealing to miracles, and they know that if they concede and appeal to a miracle, then it can't be science, thus their argument falls apart instantly, because you can't test -magic- sorry, MIRACLES

I'll delete this if Kent explains the up hill thing but my guess is, he's trying to be a smart alec and saying the only way the river would erode is if followed up either side of the canyon, basically resorting to an idea no one has, that no one agrees with to ridicule the idea it was anything other than the great flood story.

So he says dogs only produce dogs, yet he says a dog and a wolf are a kind and there was 2 of every kind on the ark. So if you have 2 dogs on the ark to cover that kind and after to so called flood ended those 2 dogs had to breed to produce more of it's kind. That would also include wolves and foxes. But he said that dogs only produce dogs which means there would now not be any wolves or foxes and there clearly are. So there would need to be around 140,000 of each land mammal on the ark (280,000 if 2 of each (even more counting the 7 of each clean animal)) and with the measurements given in the bible there would be at most around 127,500 square feet of floor space which would not be enough room that amount of animals. Kents one liners and scams were wrong back in that video and his same old line he uses now are still wrong. Plus the only dinosaur in his dinosaur world is Kent.

Being made of the same things and being directly related through common ancestry are not the same thing. Just because all life has genes and some are similar doesn’t necessarily mean they are directly related through common ancestry. The evidence for evolution is the same evidence for intelligent design from a common designer. I don’t think evolution necessarily debunks creation, I’m just being honest about the evidence. It’s about how you interpret it.
@drsatan9617

Wrong. All known lifeforms share 360 distinct genetic markers. Not similar ones We know they are all mutations of the original gene We have models explaining how mutations occur and none for any magical god creation, so it's incorrect to say both have the same standard of evidence You have only believe in intelligent design and no verifiable evidence

When one claims evolution has been proven, then the question to ask them is which one of the conflicting THEORIES is the truth. Darwinism? Neo-Darwinism? Punctuated Equilibrium,?Epigenetics? Marshall's Evolution 2.0, Noble's Third Way.....? O what a ball of confusion!

That unify the universe you can't do with math. A swastika is the simplest rendering possible for those artifacts and needs to be saved.

Dogs and wolves are the same kind? Ok, so dogs are wolves, we can both agree about that, but does that make wolves dogs? I'm sure we can both agree that wolves are not dogs, dogs obviously came after wolves, so you just proved that something can evolve from something similar. Now you just need to expand that to the logical extreme, and you have a far more accurate version of evolution than whatever you spew at your "lectures."

Bro is so simple.😂 A river above 2800ft can’t erode something of 7 to 8 thousand ft. And deposition by water occurs horizontally not by superposition. And you couldn’t even find the Kaibab trail that Hovind talked about. The highest point is 8000ft. How on earth you call Hovind and idiot when you can’t even listen correctly the argument. That’s why you attacked a straw man of the argument. So funny.

41:45 I believe you are referring to al-Ghazali who wrote The Incoherence of the Philosophers. The mutazilites (Muslims had a lot of Greek influence (mostly Aristotelian) and consequently did a lot of science to understand the world better) had brought about the golden age of islam (because duhhhh science makes everything better) but then al-Ghazali ruined everything by saying that math and science are the devils work and the golden age of islam was over (because fundamentalism always makes everything worse).
