I have memories of being young man recently divorced in a nasty relationship and going winter camping in Oregon with lightweight summer gear . Had a Camel cigarette promo give away tent ( I was a non-smoker). Next to the “Rogue River” temps dropped in to single digits *F . I kept my clothes on and tucked one lumberjack winter sleeping bag in to another and had a roaring fire just beside the tent. I actually survived the night relatively warm with clothes and double sleeping bags: fire raging besides, come morning tent had 6+ inches of snow on it and froze my man parts trying to make hot coffee in morning. Should have stayed in bed till noon but had places to be….memories wow 40 yrs ago!😂😂😂

I do exactly the same thing! It makes me thankful for my warm cozy bed - especially when it's raining or snowing outside. His comforting voice and manners lull me to sleep.

I used to watch these videos too and dreamed about sleeping in a tent. Then one day i bought -20°C sleeping bag and air mattress and slept in a kota hut. It was 0°C all night

These little hot tents are amazing. Last night I stayed in mine and we had gale force winds up around 100ks I can't say I got any sleep but the tent stayed up and that fabric blocked the wind really well. Another cheap tipi style tent nearby with only stuff in it was torn up by the wind and ended up in a ditch and in a town south of us a house lost its roof , power was out in the region from the storms. That little pomoly hot tent stayed sturdy, they are really something !

I saw The Prodigy, live at my first rave, right back in 91, I'll never forget(try to remember) those days, it was a passage of rites! Now, nearly 30 years on, I'll go to my local woods, set my nice warm tent/tarp up, put my stove on, and listen to some top tunes! I love my current lifestyles of camping out, chilling in the woods, but also think so many of my "secret" locations would be great for a rave 😆. I'll never see camping in the snow but for this! Floridians travel for their snow much like the U.K. seems to come to Florida for some of our sun! 😊 You made me smile ear to ear as you were turning your huge pancake! The more you laughed, the more funny it was! I knew that if the pancake mixture could cook through, that all would end well- despite appearances, and that seemed to be what happened! We make our berry bacon pancakes by laying down bacon til most of the way done, pour the batter on each bacon to make a pancake, sprinkle berries (huckle berries are the absolute best) on top of each pancake, then when its set, flip it over and finish cooking. Pair them with real maple syrup, positively decadent.

Just found your channel about a week ago and you’ve fast become my favourite. EXACTLY what I needed in these testing times. I haven’t been out wild camping since my kids came along, but this has really made me want to get out there again and sit in the middle of somewhere wild. Bacon looked fab and did an audible gasp when the blueberries went in - was expecting an egg! the fact that I was so ‘there’ with you, is testament to you calming demeanour. Of all the camping guys on KZbin Andy is the best, I watch his video's for Relaxation , i mean he tells you everything he's doing while he's doing it, lot of these guys here just go through the motions and don't even open their mouth's until they are done and some times they don't even do that, Andy cooks some of everything on the fire and i know he gets paid for showing all those tents he bring in and set up. I used to go away Every year for 30 years with my churchs youth club to a Camp site in Essex. i would just look forward to it all year , then i became one of the leaders, and just loved the amazment from the children when we lit the fire, and then made hot chocolate with Mars Bars...
