Perennial Rye and Kentucky Bluegrass look very similar to an untrained eye. They both feel similar and even react similar to the same environment. They both prefer full sun, need lots of water to stay green through the summer and they both have similar tolerances to foot traffic...but even still they are very different in other somewhat subtle way.
In this video I have summarized a lot of the ways these grass types differ and I've also tried to explain why one type may be better than the other for different types of lawns. These two types are frequently mixed together in lawns for various reasons and I explain the benefits of this as well.
