@rakninja16 күн бұрын
in a nailgun or something like what was featured in this video, you do not have to worry about holding accuracy any distance out, they are always going to be used point-blank. because of this, they can reinforce the chamber, allowing for much higher pressures. this is why the gas port on this thing can injure you. exhaust gasses on actual firearms are never really a safety issue.

It takes way more energy than a "blank" .22LR could ever provide to drive nails through steel/concrete/etc.

In the construction industry, particularly with metal stud framing, you have the actuated pin gun, which works off of a 22 caliber blank and uses a piston to drive the nails called pins. It can utilize three different 22 caliber blank loads, lightweight (green loads), medium (yellow), heavy (red). Typically, in metal stud framing, you shoot the bottom plate, or track to a concrete floor. Studs can be pinned to concrete and block walls, as well as steel surfaces. The pins vary in length from 1/2” to 3” or more, and can also be used to attach wood studs to concrete surfaces.

Deadbolts are a five second delay if you know what you're doing. After the Army, I briefly worked at a glass and sign company, and on my third day, we had to replace the windows and doors at a chain restaurant... and after showing me how shockingly easy it was to just pull the lock out and flip the latch, my boss let me know that the police periodically ask if he's trained anyone new... and then he showed me how to pull the window right out of any storefront.

@@scasny If you remove the lock and open the door, the alarm will get you every time (but maybe you can get out before cops arrive); however, if you know how to cleanly remove a pane of glass from the storefront and go in without using the door, they will need motion sensors to get you... and most places aren't going to put those in, and of the places that do, they are pointed at/near the door. Luckily for businesses, 99.99% of people don't know how to do any of that, and half of the ones who know can't do it in the dark and under pressure, and the ones who can are generally honest people who earn a good living and don't need or want to steal. I even feel guilty for mentioning the most vague aspect of how to do it, and thought long and hard before commenting about it before deciding that it wouldn't facilitate any competent use of the information for illegal activities. I hope.
@scasny5 ай бұрын
@@stevealford230 Well main thing is to have some evidence of force entry for the insurance. I dab into picking locks and know, most security is mainly for show and keeping out the homeless. If they want to rob you they find a way. My best advice is to buy a expensive safe just for show and put the valuables in a shoe box in the attic. They will spent all time opening empty safe. Also its interesting that you can just take out the glass. In EU only in old old 40+ years storefronts you can find screws on the outside. The rest was retrofitted that you must put the glass from the inside. Also its not rare to see bars in front of the glass, behind or even at the entry to the area for display. But soon as the motion sensors became a thing all small thefts disappears. Now they mostly only rip out ATM with cars, forklift or digger. That also stop when they start installing ink bombs.

yeah, he didn't use a real solid wood front door, that's why it popped right through it. no ones going to be using an interior door with a deadbolt for that exact reason.

I still remember that movie the most for the suppressed 12 gauge. It was ahead of its time, even if it wasn't real.

I think it could break the cinder block if you left some space between it and the muzzle, give it some time and distance to accelerate the piston a bit.

Scott, if you're still into breaking guns and gun-shaped things - on the cinder block, you could really see that the piston pushed the block away hard, but what would have happened if the cinder block was solid part of a wall and the gun couldn't recoil back because it's in a vice? That thing demolishing itself with its own force might also look cool in slo-mo!

About the coconut, this is the _dry_ coconut - a lot of "meat" and no water. If you want water you'd buy the _green_ coconut - less "meat", but does have water. I don't know the names in English, that's just how we call it in Brazil.
@HarryFlashmanVC5 ай бұрын
You can't get 'green' ones in the frozen north. They only come like that and they usually have some water in them it's unusual to get none.
@Artaxo5 ай бұрын
@@HarryFlashmanVC You're right, I made a mistake. The name always confuses me and gets me wet when I open one to eat. The water is much better in the green though, so I never think about dry coconut water. Also, I oversimplified. The green and dry coconuts are the same fruit, the dry one just matures for a few months more.

This is a cool test for an older movie. No country for old men is such a strange film yet I put it in one of my top favorites. My favorite scene is definitely when he’s giving the old man at the gas station a hard time. Call it.
