@FlexSZN232 жыл бұрын
This isn’t talked about enough, MJ & Kobe basically lived on the All defensive NBA teams; Kobe having 12 selections, 9 1st team and MJ having 9, all 1st team. MJ would’ve easily had more had he not retired and of course his DPOY, leading league in steals 3x, leading blocks for guard a few years etc. They played just as intensely on defense as they did on offense.

2004-2005: Kobe missed 16 games, their second best player was Lamar Odom missed 18 games. They were 19-15 when Kobe got injured, was reasonable with the amount of talent and depth on that team. They had a young Caron Butler (Don’t know why they traded him for KWAME BROWN), but because of the injuries they never really was given a chance to build a team chemistry. Finished the season 34-48 2005-2006: Kobe averaged 35ppg and finished with a record of 45-37, as the 7th seed on the East. Now the Toronto Raptors finished the regular season as the 3rd seed that year with 47-35 record. Let’s say if Kobe was on the east he would definitely have more wins than he had, putting him on a higher seed and would definitely give him a better MVP consideration (goes to show the different between two conferences). Now with him blowing that 3-1 lead against the Suns. Yes he didn’t finish the job but considering what he had was Lamar Odom then after that it was Kwame Brown, Luke Walton, Chris Mihm, and SMUSH PARKER RUNNING THE POINT. It means that they shouldn’t be on that situation at the first place. But yet they were there because of Kobe Bryant. He scored 29 points on game 5, 50 on game 6. After dropping a 50-piece and still lost he was called a ‘ball-hog’ so on game 7 he tried to have his teammates involved but they couldn’t step up. He also had 22 points (im not sure) on the first half but they were still down big. 2006-2007: Kobe averaged 33 5 4 and still lost, I mean what could the dude do at that point? He fought a team that had prime Steve Nash, Stat, Shawn Marion, Barbosa, Diaw. All he had was Odom. And those two Suns team would eventually lost to Dallas (2006) - which eventually went to the finals only to blew it. And to the Spurs (2007) - the eventual champion. That’s why you couldn’t blame Kobe for becoming frustrated, cause in the West you couldn’t win without any help. Just to bring out some actual context behind the subjective narratives that these “EXPERTS” always trying to conceive.

To each their own, but its not so much about MJ being 6-0, Kobe being 5-2, or Lebron being 3-5.. It's HOW they got those records. Robert Horry is 7-0 as a roleplayer on multiple Super Teams, so that argument is null. Jordan three-peated twice in 8 years and carried his team during each finals appearance. He was an elite DEFENDER and scorer. Also, the 90s Bulls were NOT considered a Super team until Rodman joined them for the second three-peat, and even then Rodman was past his prime, so thats arguable. Kobe three-peated with Shaq, then lost the 4th championship when the Lakers didn't show up against a very dangerous Pistons' team. Shaq left, and Kobe lost AGAIN to a Boston team packed with All-Star caliber players, including 3 future HoFers. Kobe then won a couple; the last against pretty much the same Boston team. Lebron on the other hand got swept his first finals and shot the ball terribly. He then joined a Super team with Wade and Bosh and LOST to an older Dallas team that had 1 All-star. Lebron shot terribly in the last 3 games of that series while Wade had a performance worthy of another Finals MVP had they won. Lebron then acquired Ray Allen and won a couple before losing again by a RECORD MARGIN to an older Spurs team with players well past their prime. He then joined another team with 2 perennial All-stars in Love and Kyrie, had a 2-1 lead AND STILL LOST to a young juggernaut in the making. Lebron's highest moment came the next year, when his team came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the chip. I give him and his team props for that, but the GOAT 'train' left the station in 2011. Deal with it.

If you're going to mention the injuries to the Cavs in 2015, then let's be objective about it and also mention the injuries to the Warriors in 2016. Andre and Steph were hurt, Draymond missed game 5, and Bogut missed game 7 in the 2016 finals. That effected the outcome.

@anouaralmouslih96625 жыл бұрын
He didn't need to, he had prime shaq since the beginning of his career so he didn't need a good teammate. Well answer me who is the best player LeBron has played with during his first years in Cleveland ??? Varejao ??? Kobe has never been the best in his team while Shaq was playing, LeBron has been by far the best player in every single team (Cleveland, miami, Cleveland and now the Lakers) .
@billybarte66265 жыл бұрын
VPL WAC yah but east conference suck, he go to finals and got sweapt
@kingdarryl75925 жыл бұрын
Here's the answer for the question. He didn't want to go anywhere he wanted to be a Lakers and stay a Laker. LeBron is just a Laker for the downside of his career so he can work on movies and stuff, he has even less heart to win now than he did before. Lakers won 35 games the season before LeBron came, LeBrons first year there they win 37. Sure he had an almost 20 game stretch for the injury. But that still gives you 62 games to to improve by more than 2 games over the previous year. Especially after adding McGee, Chandler. Goes to show LeBron is overrated and doesn't really make his teammates better

Le Var Grace Perkins was huge that series. Celtic Defense was insane! One of the best in modern NBA history. My point is Kobe never disappeared in the Finals. Win or lose the opponent was going to feel Kobe's presence. I believe Kobe would've done what he had to to get the win. Also, Gasol was practically no help. He literally looked scared that series.

- Kobe's game EVOLVED, (just like MJ) from the high-flying acts, hangtime moves, impossible shots to the simple post-up and mid-range game. Lebron's game REVOLVES on who are the superstars he wants to get - at 6'8, the strength and the built Lebron has, try to imagine MJ/Kobe w/such attributes and they take you to the post, that can be a go to move for Lebron during clutch situations rather than being passive - MJ '02 and '03, still has the slayer's mindset - Kobe's last 2 to 3 seasons, still slaying it even against D-Wade, KD, Klay and other prime/younger guys - Lebron, just never ever had it

The disrespect on Kobe was real! The so called "basketball analyst" always talk about the greatness of LeBron and always says negative on Kobe. Yeah, Lebron is great he have great statiscal numbers, 8 straight trip to Finals, he's getting a better shooter etc. But when "analyst" they talk about Kobe, I never heard from them about how he disect the game, his pure basketball skills, a lockdown defender, beating great teams in the West with 50win seasons, and most people only watch his later part of his career with so many major injuries.

@@KyleC11 Not all stats matter, but stats like plus minus and TS% matter, as they show how good your team would be without compared to what they with you on the court, and TS% shows how efficient you actually are, and LeBron blows Kobe out of the water in both. And having 2 - 3 more assists without having many more turnovers show that LeBron has often created significantly more offense for his team than Kobe and that he's easily more valuable to his team. Those are the kind of stats that matter.

Kobe is greater than Lebron in elevating himself so he could win ball games for his team. Lebron is greater in elevating his team so they all play a little better.. but I d rather see a player go next level and taking over so his team gets the win. Lebron lost more finals because he never really elevates himself like Kobe in games.. thats the big difference as why you can say Kobe is the greater basketball player.
@xaviervega4687 жыл бұрын
Lebron lost more Finals cause he didn't have the option of being Shaq's sidekick for 3 of them.
@1love4music4love17 жыл бұрын
Xavier Vega. Kobe closed almost every (finals) game when he was with Shaq. But you are right Shaq was also a big reason why they won championships. But Lebron had superstar teammates too in finals.. the bigger reason why Lebron lost finals is because he never took over ball games in the 4th quarter. He rather looks for "the right play" or a teammate to close it out.
@1love4music4love17 жыл бұрын
jeremiah walker. So we can conclude that Lebron lost more finals because he did not elevate his own game in the clutch to close it out. Ofcourse 2007 he was too young. And 2015 his team got injured. But 2011, 2014 and 2017 he did not elevate himself down the stretch to close it out. And lets not forget that in Finals that his team won.. other players closed. 2016 Kyrie, in Miami mainly D.Wade and ofcourse wondershot by Ray allen. So Lebron is great! But he is not a killer to get the Win like a Kobe was in his days. Thats why I say Kobe is greater than Lebron.
@1love4music4love17 жыл бұрын
jeremiah walker. So yes Lebron is great and he can show up.. but it's just when you compare it to Kobe and how he showed up in taking over games to win.. Kobe is just better in "showing up" to win the game in the end. That is a big factor of why Kobe won more championships.

When did Paul Gasol became some all-time great player. Paul Gasol was a all-star at best. Lebron fans complain that Love is not enough for Lebron to win championships, but Gasol was enough for Kobe. Kobe is the only legend to win by himself. Lebron had Kyrie, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and K Love. Michael had Scottie Pippen for all 6 rings, which was the 2 best players in the league at that time. Kobe won by himself against 4 hall of famers against the Boston Celtics. Kobe/MJ = Goat
@xaviervega4686 жыл бұрын
LOL Kobe didn't win a damn thing by himself. When Kobe was by himself he missed the playoffs entirely and then got booted out the first two years running. 3 of Kobe's rings he was the 2nd fiddle to Shaq. The other 2 Kobe had the best frontcourt in the league. Someone had to rebound Kobe's bricks.
