I actually learned how powerful feinting is from teaching my son how to fight. Fighting is pretty much just mind games. Because I have fought my son so much he knows what I like to do and how I like to do it. So I have to use feinting as some sort of mind game to make him think I want to do something I normally do to do something else and catch him off guard.

Thanks for making this. I forget to gather information. I used them to close the gap safely , I use them to draw out counters and just this last week I was tired and my opponent could tell and started to become aggressive so I just started feinting relentlessly only occasionally sending an actual punch and it definitely kept him at bay. I just need to build a habit of the first one , gathering info. Thats what we are doing when we train. Building habits

As always, awesome stuff. Since we're on the topic of feinting, could you make a video on properly developing and manipulating/killing your rhythm in context?
@coachKeithKeppner4 ай бұрын
Man deep question right there. Sounds a little like a question that might be particularly answered I'm a very simple way in my 3 speeds video, did you watch that one yet?
@@coachKeithKeppner yep, i am somewhat conceptually aware about breaking rhythm or using rhythm traps and mixing in the long beat and off beat, but i'm struggling with integrating my footwork into those broken beats with my back and forth Inoue-esque rhythm (like the false steps he used to close distance and jab fulton) and i don't get how to do it mechanically. Your point about not always using rhythm in a previous video brought into mind how Mayweather and Inoue often times would kill their rhythm and punch without it, and i realised that i didn't understand rhythm in boxing nearly as well as i thought and now i'm wondering if i've developed a bad pattern somewhere.

I'm personally guilty of the restricted guard thinking. It's good to get another perspective on it. I habitually feint so much it might be a problem and causes inactivity.
@coachKeithKeppner4 ай бұрын
Good, yeah I feel the guard thinking is very much to do about nothing sometimes. Ok yup so if you are feinting too much can be an issue particularly if your real attacks aren't that jolting and worrisome. Also how much do people actually react to your feints?

@@coachKeithKeppner Don't have enough experience to say for sure frankly. I'm an okay puncher but can be prone to just feinting without establishing a meaningful threat prior. Haven't gotten over the fear of getting hit so I'm gun-shy.
