I just hope science and experiments aren't all one-shots like in KSP1, I always thought that was extremely boring. I want long running science experiments, data collection, etc. to make building stations, satellites, science outposts and stuff like that actually worth something.
@CaptNSquared Жыл бұрын
Letting rovers work in the background, or at least some sort of time acceleration, would be great to. At present, they are pretty much unusable in KSP1 as you have to drive across a planet in real time. The mod that simulates rover movment in the background is the only time I'll use rovers, but then you lose the exploration of stuff in between
@averiWonBTW Жыл бұрын
you can see there is a timer when they start an experiment 3:40
@Omegasutoraiki Жыл бұрын
Seems to me like they are open to editing how things work to improve everyone's experience. I wouldn't assume they will do something along that line but with there being a timer for gaining science from experiments. Maybe when they start working on colonies and expand the tech tree there could be some more long form drip fed science gains from colonies since they would be resource production places and that could make a lot of sense there. I am for the idea of having probes and rovers send data over a longer time period though allowing you to gain a little extra science on the side while doing your missions with kerbals too.

Looks like here the stations and outposts are going to be for the eventual resource collection system or ISRU construction of new vehicles, while sats are largely going to be probes or commsats. Long-running science and data collection would slow down gameplay.

Don’t even think about the other meaning..) never fails to send shivers down my spine! While KSP is much more ambient and not that “banger” type of music some Half Life songs are, it’s still as memorable and able to make you feel a certain feeling. Howard could easily make the music for a AAA game or a big budget Hollywood movie. To me his stuff has Hans Zimmer quality.

The communication and transparency through the whole development cycle is really what draws me most to a studio. It puts the whole team in a very vulnerable position which shows just how much they all understand the community (because they are clearly part of that community as well). So much science is done with them, and there's so much you can use telescopes for. I mean, I know it's a bit of a hardcore mode but, what about using a telescope to select a landing site? KSP 1 just allowed you to cheat and zoom in and out of any planet using the tracking station. The need to use a telescope to do surveilance would add a whole lot to the game, at least in some modes. The "For Science!" update is what I've been waiting for to provide me both with a challenge and a reason for travelling in the first place. For me it's not enough to be able to travel... it's as much about what there is to do when I get there. Can i actually build something without it bugging out in the VAB tho?...Genuinely just 20 minutes ago i lost a craft i spent 4 hours on, because it suddenly decided to disassemble itself with every part becoming it's own assembly and inside the floor of the VAB.
