I remember it well! I was there the day it arrived with George Stewart. And I saw Dennis Bradly drive through the frame in his Austin Healey 😊

The Mosquito featured in this video is now on static display at the EAA Airventure Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The video was shot in 1988 at the Hamilton, Ontario Airshow. At present I am aware of two being restored to flying condition, one in Auckland, New Zealand and one in Victoria, BC, Canada by Victoria Air Maintenance Ltd.

I was told that the RAF used to send one of these to Berlin every hour to rattle the citizens. They were high and fast and probably used 'window' to look like larger formations. When I lived at Ramstein Air Base during the cold war the USAF units used music (Darktown Strutters Ball was one squadron's recall song) over the loudspeakers to give alerts and recall instructions. It was said that air raid sirens were too upsetting to Germans who had lived through the war.

It flew just fine when it left the UK. Soon as it got to the states it never flew again .

keith7836 Kermit did a video the last time they flu it in Canada at a air show and before they started back to Florida they were doing their inspection and found bubble in the fabric on some control surfaces and decided to leave it in Canada rather than take a chance of something happening it at a museum until they can do the repairs.

Remember when the last airworthy one in GB crashed ? (deadly) - I sure like the very careful approach of Kermit Weeks and its very sound and safe in Oshkosh at the wonderful EAA Museum! - His explanations why he stopped flying it make a whole lot of sense if you actually listen to them.

He flew it for about three years in the USA, leaving it at Oshkosh in 1990. Hardly “ as soon as it got to the USA”. Which was in October, 1987.
