The good news is that there should be a lot of after market software that can get taken from the GRMN model, the e LSD programming, engine tune should all be able to be reverse engineered. I can imagine it will be like the GTS tunes on BMWs.

Quick correction but apparently North America will get their own version of the Final Edition according to Car and Driver. "UPDATE 12/3/24, 4:00 p.m.: This story has been updated with a response from a Toyota North America spokesperson. They told Car and Driver that a version of the Supra A90 Final Edition will be coming to the U.S. market, however, official details about that car will be shared at a later date."

My 2021 has a little over 50k miles with catless DP, intake manifold, port injection, reflex, lpfp, hybrid turbo, lightweight wheels with 275f/305r. This would probably be more fun on a track but mine has only been once. I’m happy with my 600ish hp daily until the transmission dies. Seems like minor tweaks they have been doing since the early scion days to make it “limited”

As much as I hated the fact Toyota used a BMW power train for this car, I can't deny that the B58 seems to stand the test of time in terms of its reliance and these cars are probably going to go up in value if the Supra is discontinued again.

It definitely ended up being a net positive because when it first dropped a lot of people were not feeling any of it. It took me a couple years for the look to grow on me and the b58 has definitely started off better than the 2jz in many ways. Holding my breath for the hate comments lol

Hey this is a little off topic but how is the spool time on that daw UFX. Is it slower thank stock? I was stuck between that and the flowmax v2.5 since that one is supposed to spool really fast. I’m di only with a upgraded pump so I’ve heard you can’t really make that much more power of the UFx

Curious how turbo lag / response will be affected by a downpipe with high-flow cat and higher boost?

Won’t be noticeable unless you are experienced with the car and drove it back to back. The b58 stock turbo spools quite a bit faster than the ones on s58 for example. I would expect turbo lag to not be of any concern until you start saturating a pure800 or something along those lines.

@@vollcare4076 In practice it does, as a larger turbo is driven from the same exhaust gasses as a smaller turbo, and needs more time to generate the same amount of boost. If this wasn't the case then turbo lag would be the same for all turbos, regardless of size. As mentioned though, it doesn't start to potentially hurt performance (on track at least where you're not at constant WOT) until you get to really big ones. The new supra will essentially come with a stage 1 tune. Looking at my own logs comparing stage 1 with the factory 700 cell vs my new 200 cell, the boost levels at certain RPMs were pretty close throughout the pull, about 100 RPM difference.

@@vollcare4076 Almost certainly the same turbo, which can support more than 430hp, so no need for them to upgrade to run those numbers. By having a less restrictive downpipe, you increase the pressure differential throughout the system, hastening spool times. But in some cases, if the back pressure is too low, the exhaust gasses can expand too quickly and cause a decrease in velocity, slowing spool times. However, it’s not really that simple because now you have to factor in air temperature, intake system, ECU parameters, and everything else. At the end of the day, the overall performance improvement from a higher flowing downpipe (assuming the current one is at its limit of airflow) is more significant than any increase in turbo lag that might arise.

I don't understand why they are retiring the A90 already. The styling is still current, the car is in demand, the car is extremely competitive (kicking ass for the price bracket).....so why retire it already? The previous generation Supra was sold from 1993 to 2002, a total generation run of 9 years. This doesn't make sense to me, unless this has something to do with changes BMW are doing??

Check the stats again. The car is not in demand (sales drop every year) along with the BMW model cycle is typically 7 years so the Z4 will be ending soon too. It sucks but that's just how the market is.

Here is my opinion on the why they are retiring besides the BMW Z4 market. The car community was not fair with this car, the BMW hate and the shadow of the MK4 clouded all the good things this car achieved. Most influencers did zero justice to it as well to favor the psycho cult of the MK4 and toyota purist for views and likes. There is a certain you tuber who bought a crashed A90, rebuilt it and decided to part ways due to the peoples hate, another youtuber traded his GTR for a MK5 and almost got cancelled by the Toyota purists. No justice at all!!! Then on top of that all the misinformation with the car being a clone of the Z4 which it really isn't! There are chassis blueprints on the MK5 community who shows all the differences, spot welds and body structures of both chassis, only sharing the powertrain, wheelbase, suspension components on both cars have different specs, the supra having different dampening and springrates compared to the Z4 and GR software tuning.

Achievements never mentioned by the community about the A90: 7s 1/4 mile on a pretty much stock chassis soon to touch 6s PHD Racing T90 and Kyle A90 breaking records on GTA and SLB The Screen D2 A90 Supra in Japan doing 57s on Attach challenge Tsukuba with barely bolt ons and tune, this is an insanely crazy time considering Nobuemon (ESPIRIT MK4) with a modded/cut chassis is doing 55s!! on a car that has been in development for 15+years More podium finishes than the MK4 ever dreamed on due to how good the chassis is no matter what engine you put in it! GT500(R14A engine) GT300(2UR) There is a lot more that can be said regarding how reliable this car is, how easy to work on it is but time is showing, this car will become the next 350z that devalue 80% of its value in less than 10 years and exploited by most kids in the US. At this point Im considering selling my A90 and GR Corolla to get a R35 GTR to safe my investment.

This is a sad day but I think Toyota will be coming out with a good replacement and it seems like the EV dream world is dead in their minds for a lot of their cars. I didn't want to be that guy but I predicted the EV forced revolution would be more like the late 70s early 80s gas crisis dark days that has hurt the car companies more than the consumers so far.
