[PSO2] Beginners Hero Guide

This video was created based off my own personal knowledge and testing of the Hero Class on the Global Server. While I always strive to provide helpful tips; I too make mistakes, and in this video there are several mistakes which many of you so kindly pointed out. Thus I would like to make the following amendments: TMG Amendments: 1. Spam Slightshot Gambit (Tap so you do not weapon swap) for damage instead of Starfire Squall. 2. To activate perfect reload use your dodge for easier access to perfect reload. Talis Amendments: 1. Spam Edgeracer Gambit (Tap so you do not weapon swap) for damage. I apologise for any one who may have been mis-guided and will strive to worker harder in the future.

* starfire squal damage increases by about 300% after a successful dodge and make it provide i-frames till the ability animation ends making it the highest TMG dps ability if used correctly. * Best sword dps is actually to tap rising slash (till you see one slash in the air) twice and then auto attack. also auto-attacking after a dodge will net you a HUGE hit. * Talis provides some of the best mobility you can ask for with i-frames included it makes Phaleg's triple charge (probably her most annoying move to dodge) look like a joke. * Hero time finish depends on the equipped weapon, usually TMG's are good to build up for the finish but you would not want to have TMG's equipped for finish because in most missions damage per hit is capped at 999,999 and using sword for hero finish will land many hits that wont hit the cap but will rack up more total damage then 999,999. * Brightblade buster provides frontal block for the first part (the first slash).

I Just wanna add for the reloading in tmg. You can dodge perfect reload over and over to gain pp faster rather than holding the reload when you perfect reload.

Reminder that you dont have to stick with the weapon you activated Hero Time. You can activate hero Time with TMGs on, get the attack bonusses, switch to Sword and activate Hero Time Finish for way more damage.

TMG -> you can still uses the force lighting dash thing for mobility teamed with reload you can get around the map insanely fast

To add: TMG reload/perfect reload counts as natural pp regen (I tested this out). Active PP regen bonuses will not improve reload pp regen, but natural pp regen bonuses will (like in S grade augments). Also the TMG monkey jumping skill has a high damage multiplier so it’s actually a great aoe! I also love how it has a bit of movement u can control during the PA

Nice vid ! Also don’t forget on hero when using TMG it’s better to dash and then use the weapon action to trigger the perfect reload it’s much faster. You need to do it about three times and your close to full and that’s not having any good affixes either. I’m still trying to learn some crazy methods with hero lol I love this class

As a hero main, if I'm not mistaken dash-perfect reload-dash-perfect reload is faster, rather than holding reload down Edit: just seen others pointed this out, my bad 😄

This is a great vid to help people getting interested in Hero, but there's one thing I'd like to mention. I strongly recommend anyone looking to get good at Hero to learn to sidestep attacks. Not only do you dodge damage, but you also get a lot of damage from Hero Counter Sidestep Attacks. For TMGs in particular, you use Starfire Squall after a sidestep to get nutty DPS as well as extend the invincibility you gain from the sidestep until the end of the PA. This only applies if you successfully sidestep an attack into Starfire Squall. Keep up the great work mate, and God Bless!

A good thing about final storm is that it does a 360 degree block during most of the jumping animation. So, it's like having AOE+mobility+blocking all in one PA.

Perfect Dodge also has a sound effect when you manage to pull it off. Also Hero Will is alot like Iron Will from the Hunter Class. Lol

I’ve made to lev 90 with my hero and got a pretty good feel for it now, but I feel like I’m missing something. I never knew that you can hold the twin gun weapon action lol. Glad I’m watching this! Btw, I don’t think justice is being done here for tmg. That monkey move is the hero’s best AOE pa with i-frames... I think.

I suggest people to get used to switching weapons cause its super useful and fun. My Hero is at level 80 and its very strong and versatile. That talks move that makes the vacuum AOE is SUPER useful for drawing in trash mobs to wipe them when you switch to the sword (if sword is your main like me). That move with the TMGs where you hop around is great for getting out of trouble and dealing a little damage at the same time. The multi hit TMG attack is DOPE for part breaking. I'm sure most people have seen this move in BQ.

15:52 - You don't need to switch to the talis to use magic, which makes the use of some support magic convenient. Also, while using TMGs you can use dodge as an action to chain the perfect reload into.

Correction: Talis only players spam Edgeracer Gambit because it will only throw a projectile at your target if you tap it.

Something important to mention about TMGs that wasnt, is the "auto attack" gains a pretty nice damage spike following a dodge action abusing this can get you some decent damage while offering a mobility alternative. The damage bonus is further increased by perfect dodges, in addition to the PA you say to spam (i dont recall PA names) also gets perfect dodge damage bonus. I main tmgs but find use for both sword and talis.

I main Talis for the most part. Normal attack for PP, Jet Wheel to set up DoT, on bosses (or just tall targets) I use the "Encore Jump" skill to get some altitude (out if reach of most enemies) and spam Fallback Gambit for damage and to keep moving. Haven't bothered much at all with Sword or TMG but probably should look into it as building focus is incredibly slow running just one weapon.

i have my own combo using tmg hero, lock the head or weakness spot, then spam switch fire gambit (just tap not hold) then dash backward/forward click perfectly red JA switch fire gambit again, look the damage xD so fun, also this combo can use for sprinting, the speed is same like ls brave skill teleport

Honestly, TMG normal attacks have a couple good uses, and there's no reason to sacrifice TWO palette slots to TMG weapon action (I personally have Weapon Action on my R key so I can use all slots of the weapon palette for PAs and Techniques). One good use is that with TMG normals you can fully heal yourself with an uncharged Megiverse. And if you want to apply status effects, TMG normals hit a LOT faster than most of the TMG PAs and with a better PP/Hit ratio to boot. I love casting Zanverse to apply Blind to nearly every enemy I can swap to in my field of view with Normals and I figure that would help a LOT if a boss was susceptible to Blind (Dark Falz Luther for example), since Zanverse adds such a large chance for any attack to cause Blind and TMG normals hit a WHOLE lot of hits per second. Starfire Squall is great for lined up enemies or to use after a dodge, as Starfire Squall has a huge potency bonus when used after a successful dodge.

Brightness End/Circle w/e the sword aoe PA was called, haven't touched hero since phantom came out lol, has a guard point. Its somewhere between the start of the attack and the slash/full charge

Hero's sword skill Bright blade there seems to be a perfect attack element to it. Timing it right can yield a much higher dps, but I cant find the cue for that yet, for now, relying on the timing needed to charge your weapon action helps me land 100K per target hit

Going from. Hunter to Hero is going to take some getting used to without guard, vanilla Sword PAs or auto-mate half. I'm sure going from Gunner to Hero is just as weird without the slo-mo dodge. Or Techter without phantasmal shift

Hero main here,A bit of a tips on sword : always charge your weapon action from after you attacking or after using pa This way you'll skip to charge 1 regardless of the timing, so its just tap no need to hold, but if wanna go for full charge you do need to charge longer but with this technique you'll get to full charge much faster Do note that your main damage is your pa not your weapon action full charge Always use the weapon action full charge for pre attack(your first attack when the boss is about to come out or when you have time to charge it before you can hit the boss) Because if you do try it you're gonna get hit a lot and you'll deal less damage overtime Tmgs :this is your mobbing tool and hero time filler You'll be using tmg a lot for mobbing if you do focus on using all of the weap or you just wanna use tmg The reason of this being a mobbing tool is due to the mobility and aoe that you have on your 3 pa Starfire squall,sleightshot gambit and final storm, something good about starfire is that its also a counter tool, one of the strongest of all hero counter, but it does take some time to make all hits count which is 14 hits, hence why its the strongest,(dont use basic attack to often, its not worth your pp ) and a bit of a trick to gain your pp fast is to dodge->reload->dodge->reload,master this and you'll get your pp back is seconds Also a trick that you can use is to reload after 1 or 2 pa usage, this way you can be aggresive while maintaining your pp Talises is a a strong weapon to use on hero especially for dps filler Its fun to use tbh, what you wanna do with talis is to use the houndblade for starter as it will deal damage while you continue to hit the enemy with other pa, jet wheel is pretty tricky to use, i've only used it for stationary bosses because it pairs well with swords and tmg If you do main it, you're gonna spam razoredge gambit a lot(also fall back gambit if you need mobility) Personally i dont recommend using talises hero finisher, its still strong but you might miss some because the finisher it self stationary Edit : you should be spamming sleightshot gambit for 1 target enemy because its your main burst damage, as for starters i recommend more to tmg and talises because how easy and solid they are together Try to use some tech like crafted ramegid and megiverse

I strongly disagree with what you said about edgeracer gambit. I remember on the jp version that was like the best spam ability for talis because if you keep tapping it I’m pretty sure it’s one of the highest DPS you can achieve on talis with hero.

You are correct! I did not have anyone to talk to about talis hero as not many hero plays on Global seem to use Talis, however after this video went live a few players were very vocal about this skill.

The video would of been a lot better if you spent more time on playing the class because there were a lot of flaws in the video that you could of understood if you played the class more. Also it's not a bad idea to use the normal attack of tmgs because you get more movement, while in starfire squall you are stucked in place being able to be easily hit, unless you use it as a counter. Overall I enjoyed the video as always keep up the great work

Just noticed this as I was watching your video; Hero does need a couple of discs if you would like to use techs. Obviously most aren't that helpful but anti and resta or megiverse with shifta/deband and personally I like Safoie-0 as an easier long range movement option regardless of weapon. Now I think of it I wonder if I should be trying to sneak a Zanverse in for bigger fights.

You need to utilize all 3 weapons to use Hr to its full potential. It's confusing at first but give it some practice I think combos will start to come naturally. IMO, Sword + Talis(only the PA that generates a circle that does DPS, forgot the name of it) = bossing TMG = mobbing I know TMG's counter hits the hardest but personally just prefer to use sword for bossing. If you have S4 lifesteal on your bossing weapon you generally wont ever have to use megiverse and you'll stay alive for the most part. Besides, you should try to not even get hit in the first place to maximize that Hero boost :)

Odd i do more damage with talis than sword when i crit i hit for 50k+ very often when you combine both dots then attack with talis damage goes up it is a bossing weapon where sword and tmg are for mobbing. Healing weapon is VERY important for damage it increases damage should ALWAYS be maxed both trees. Also for building up hero time hit counts use Sleightshot Gambit not starfire.

If your katana only braver then Mel mag is recommended since its more flexible for other classes. However if you plan to Braver and Phantom (ONLY). Then using a dex mag is fine.

Really up to you. Depends how much time and meseta you want to invest into the character. I personally enjoy using all 3 weapons but will probably end up just using TMG or Sword simply because it’s easy.

The Talis is fucking sick! This whole class is fucking sick! Had alot of fun with it but i stopped playing it since i decided to focus on getting my bouncer to lvl 90 so i can make it stronger to do harder stuff. I need better units, i ditched the saiki set for the stella wall but have been grinding for better drops

Hey keroppi, Jeah maybe u can use 1 Weapon with Hero but it’s NOT his playstyle. The entire skilltree concept of Hero needs all 3 weapons to MAX dps + some Techs. In Combat the Secret is to manage Pp and combination. An example... Normal attack TMG is not good, but in hero time every dmg u dealt adds 1% total Dmg to hero finish. The fast shooting AND movement helps allot because dmg taken reduce 60% total dmg. Every Scion class needs his 3 weapons and I think everyone will use them but no all will master them. Ofcourse Pso2 is pretty casual gameplay and we know u are an braver but pls 4 those Videos make sure to check an class before you make such clips. Keep the good content :)

Hi Cenk~ Thanks for the feedback, however I did say that the hero is intended to use all 3 weapons. I had to break it down into segments explaining each weapon first and after the introduction of each 3 weapons + skills I explained that the intention is to combo all 3 together with the weapon swap skills.

@@keroppi Funny thing - 12 players version is about ~3,5 times fatter than solo version. Just done it solo about an hour ago as an experiment (it took 28 minutes). And my stats are almost the same as yours (from your link video) during the fight.

Similar to gunner in that it’s about not getting hit. If you aren’t switching weapons and dodging and countering don’t play hero lol. You gain the most focus by hitting counters and switching weapons frequently, staying on one will stale after a while.

No. You need two main classes at 75 to unlock Hero. Once you swap to Hero, you start back at lvl 1

+195 RNG PWR on back,arms, and legs. +200 RNG sup on mags. i got atlas radda with lifesteal and +100 RNG PWR... i dont understand why people do switching weapon.
