[English Dub] Twin Song Reprise (From Hamburg to Rochefort) from Les Demoiselles de Rochefort

Les Demoiselles de Rochefort (dir. Jacques Demy) is one of the most charming and unique movie musicals from the 60s. Unfortunately, it is sometimes overlooked outside of the Francophone world. The film was shot simultaneously in English, but this version has never been released on home media, let alone restored. I combined some of the English song dubs that were recorded back in the 60s with clips from a 2K restoration done in 2010 by Digimage Cinema. I used the English soundtrack and applied it to the whole movie, it works decently in some parts but horribly in others. I also ran into troubles when there was dietetic audio. The soundtrack itself sounds much brighter then the actual French audio track of the movie.

That's because they shot all music scenes twice, one for the French version and the other for the English. The English version flop and is very difficult to find (maybe lost for ever?)

@@historicarchives4841 Not inherently, dietetic audio was the main problem. Surprisingly, the timing isn't too horribly off.

You can't use the CD mix and have it sync. I had a very rare 16mm Tech/scope print of the English version. I don't know that the English track exists outside of that print - the fellow who got it from me passed away and I have no idea who got his film collection.
