Abortion bans are doing the exact opposite of what you guys want them to do. Infant mortality has risen in states with bans as well as the mortality rate for women. It was never about saving babies. Majority of women seeking abortions have complications where the baby isn’t gonna live anyway. The baby still dies and in some cases, the mother dies as well. Also, the number of abortions has not decreased like you guys thought it would. It’s actually increasing. And the number of women getting pregnant is decreasing as well. Abortion bans don’t make women want to get pregnant. I used to want to have children with my husband but we don’t wanna risk anything so getting pregnant is off the table.

@thecozyvvitch you may be correct as to the reason why the majority of women get abortions. I don't really know the actual statistics. But in my 47 years on this planet I've known of at least 7 women who've had their fetus ripped out of their womb limb by limb and all of them did it because they didn't feel ready to alter their lives in the ways necessary to raise the child. Valid reason? Maybe, maybe not. But I have serious doubts that the most common reasons are medical related.

Maybe all single women will move out of the states that have these laws. This will make it difficult for any men in the region to have any control over the decisions of women's reproduction. If they want women to marry and stay in the region they best protect a woman's right to chose.

Pro birth voters have been convinced that women abort babies as a form of birth control. Women's weak morals and laziness are what lead to the pregnancy. Those women must be punished by ...having a child or die trying. What has led them to reconsider their position is innocent Christian women are swept up in these laws too. No one is taking their rights away, in fact because of the abortion ban, OBGYNs are leaving, OBGYN residents aren’t coming here, so that will effect every woman who needs to see one for their checkups, for women for care and treatment while they’re pregnant… So the lack of doctors and even nurse practitioners will put women and babies at risk, especially in rural areas. What about clean air, clean water, safe housing, healthy food, a safe and healthy home environment (in Missouri if someone is pregnant, a divorce cannot be granted until after the baby is born, so think about a woman in a DV situation who can’t get away ), good education, child care, after school care, care and services for children with disabilities and their families, a living wage for the parents/guardians, job security of the of the pregnant woman and their partner if the pregnant needs to be on bed rest or hospitalized during the pregnancy and/or if she or the baby has complications during the birth, as well as having the same kind of protections if their children are sick whether it’s a cold to something serious like cancer or even a snow day and at least one parent needs to stay home with them, without loss of pay or job endangerment, health care starting when the mother finds out she’s pregnant, including vision and dental? Having those all of these things would be protecting the children.
