You'll notice the slices are still a bit flaccid (for lack of a better term:)) and soggy. Reduce the baking temp for the crust to 375 degrees and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. The lower temp with the longer baking time will allow the crust to expel a little more of it's moisture and give it a more pizza crust texture and consistency per slice.

I made this tonight as a calzone with ham, cheddar and ricotta filling. It was so good! I did use olive oil in place of coconut oil. The previous time I made this crust with coconut oil as directed and it was too much of a coconut flavor, but this time it was so good. Also 1/4 tsp of salt, garlic powder and onion powder. Baked at 350 for 20 minutes and broiled for 5. Cheers.

Just made this first time, came out awesome. After reading thru some of the comments, i made a few changes that worked well i thought. Substituted olive oil for the cocunut oil - hardly any cocunut flavor. Did use the cocunut flour and all other dry ingredients. I spiced up the Hunts sauce with italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder. Only other change was i added large rather than tiny pinches of garlic and onion salt to the dry ingredients. LOVED this pizza! Thanks Joe. Also made your pb choc chip and double choc chip cookies following recipe exact and both were great! 3rd week into low carb/wheat free lifestyle, glad i found this. I know this video is a year and a half old but I wanted to let you know that I made this tonight and it is awesome! It's like I was eating normal pizza!! I used Kerry gold butter instead of coconut oil and used my regular low carb pizza sauce and mozzerella/provolone mix cheese. Then I cooked my pepperoni in the microwave so it was super crispy and when I took the pizza out put the pepperoni right on. I cooked the crust for 10 minutes before putting the toppings on and baked another about 5 minutes more. The crust was golden brown and crispy! Yum! Oh, I also baked it on a small dark colored cookie sheet and even the bottom browned!!

Thanks for taking the time to put this video together. I loved your keto cookies recipe, very nice! I just made this keto pizza recipe and I followed the directions exactly using all the ingredients. I had high hopes for the recipe, but honestly, it wasn’t very appetizing. The crust isn’t like a pizza crust, and you can actually taste the coconut flour in the dough. The dough was too gritty and dense to be a light and crisp pizza dough. If you’re on a strict keto or gluten-free diet and can’t have the real thing i understand making this, but since I can eat gluten, I think I’ll just bite the bullet and when I have a craving I’ll go for the real thing every once in a while and have a cheat pizza meal. Thank you Joe! I just made this dough, and a pizza. It turned out very good, and I'm getting ready to sit down and chow, with a salad as well! I did not use protein powder, and I used a Tbsp of Olive Oil instead of Coconut Oil. I also added a little tiny bit of Basil to my dough. My toppings were tomato sauce (with meat flavor and spices), Walmart Italian Style shredded cheese (Mozzarella, Romano, Provolone, Parmesan, and Asiago), pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, and diced up sweet red peppers, with a little more garlic powder, and black pepper sprinkled on top. This dough is very good, and pretty darn close to regular pizza dough! I'm sure my pizza is not as "keto" as yours here, but it is WAY more low carb than regular pizza! I believe with a little more experimenting with my spices, I'll get it even closer tasting to regular flour dough pizza crust. I just bought 2 pizza pans, so I can make 2 pizzas at a time for football games with my friends!...Peace! 🎼❤

Hi Joe, I just made the pizza and it’s pretty good... maybe the best keto pizza I’ve tried... BUT, what is the reason for the coconut flour? I am asking it because I could taste the coconut flavor in the crust. The flavor is too significant for a pizza crust. Can the coconut flour be replaced by something else?
@paulsegers18804 жыл бұрын
Agreed, it reminded me a bit of "banana bread" flavor.
@even61244 жыл бұрын
Sanavan you can change the coconut oil for olive oil. It will taste more like pizza and diminish the coconut taste.

I liked it, it was different but not better than fathead dough, I might have undercooked the crust. I followed exact time and temp and also substituted almond flour for the protien like you stated. My crust wasnt as browned as I'd like or crispy, also when I tried to even slightly fold it, it crumbled and broke. The pros to fathead is it has that pizza elasticity still like traditional pizza, also the coconut oil gave it a slight coconut taste which wasnt terrible for me at all but might not be for everyone. Overall, nice alternative to fathead pizza!

Newbie Keto girl here. Made the pizza tonight. It came out beautiful. Wish I could insert a pic. Never ate almond/coconut flour in my life. Takes a little getting used when you've been eating carbopizza all your life. If I had made that with regular dough I would have eaten the whole thing. The toppings and tomato sauce were delicious. The crust was.... keto crust. Why didn't I stop at one slice? Cause it was PIZZA!.
@zelinskymike2 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly tasty. I swapped olive oil for coconut oil and added a little extra salt and Italian seasoning in the crust and I'm glad I did because it cut down the natural sweetness. I suggest rolling it out as thin as possible, because my first effort was a little too thick and the consistency was slightly off. I like making cauliflower crust pizza and I have a really good recipe for it, but its time consuming and only slightly better tasting than this simple recipe. Well done my friend, this recipe is a keeper.

Glad to see many ppl like this. Tried it. The dough... ugh. Its definitely not floppy mozerella cheeze. But gawd, its nowhere near a typical regular pizza. The dough is like... biting into a layer of dry crumbly corn bread. Benefit of the doubt, i will try this recipe one more time. It looked fabulous coming from the broil side! The dough is 99% of the pizza. Its the main vehicle for the lucious toppings.

Is it the gluten that's the bad thing with flour dough?
@fiend-off-the-grid4 жыл бұрын
no, the main issue is the carb count. On the keto diet, you can have 25 grams of carbs a day, less than 20 if you're just starting

@@fiend-off-the-grid carbs don't make you fat
@fiend-off-the-grid4 жыл бұрын
@@adgamez1311 yes, they do. I mean, think about it for a second. The Standard American Diet is the _only_ one worldwide that recommends such a high intake of processed grains, such as cereals and bread, and we have the highest obesity rates of any of them. the SAD has been changed marginally over the years, but has consistently kept the same high recommendation of processed carbs
@renaldomariano86124 жыл бұрын
@@fiend-off-the-grid That still doesn't mean carbs make you fat. Eating like an idiot does. You can get/stay lean eating more carbs than the keto carb limit. Keto definitely has its merit, but eating a balanced diet while not overdoing the calories won't make you fat because it has carbs in it.
@fiend-off-the-grid4 жыл бұрын
