I settled down in Malaysia 35 years ago. I tried my best to avoid Kuala Lumpur and Penang because both these places are chaotic. That is why i choose to settle down in Ipoh. Way cheaper than most places in Malaysia. Properties are like half the prices of Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Johor Baru. Ipoh is also way cleaner, tiny traffic jams only on peak hours and very relaxed life..

By the way, most of the security guards here in Malaysia were foreign workers. So, pardon their limited communication skill and info provided. Mostly from Bangladesh or Nepal. Malaysia has 2 major breweries and they are listed on the stock exchange. Carlsberg and Heineken (Guiness). There are also countless licensed liquor manufacturers and liquor or wine shops. Carlsberg Malaysia also supplies to Singapore. You can also find pubs, bars and numerous number forecast operators in Malaysia. Once upon a time we had the only major casino in Southeast Asia on a mountain. Genting. You should go up the mountain. Genting has assets globewide, including in Florida and New York. Malaysia is very very very different from other countries in ASEAN. Only India has more Hindu temples than Malaysia. Malaysia is also the strictest Islamic country in the world. It accounts for 70% of global Islamic Finance. And a hub for Halal certification. Basically THE global Halal expert. Its a nation of diversity that can be contradictory. And its not just Malay, Chinese and Indians here. There are over 100 different ethnicities living here. Mixed with a large migrant worker population from everywhere. Plus a student and expat community with large chunks of Koreans, Japanese and Chinese nationals living here.

@BarefootVlogger thank you for coming and helping to promote malaysia. We have tropical jungles, hundreds of kms of white beaches, top 10 islands in the world with beautiful marine life in clear waters, we have highlands and mountains, and cities and the peaceful folk villages known as kampung. Malaysia only has 33 million people in population only a third of Thailand, Vietnam and Philliphines and perhaps just 10% of Indonesia but the result is that there are a lot less people here, more controlled crowd, less motorbikes, lower pollution (hence cleaner air to breath). What we don't have is free 53x and prostitutions and alcohol which are all not good for health. Not openly though. Again, wishing you a pleasant stay here. And may I suggest for you to tour the entire peninsular just by using express buses which are well connected to all cities and towns including to singapore and hatyai in thailand. As a true backpacker, I believe you would enjoy that. Get the bus tickets online, save a lot of time and hassle.

With that amulet and a purple cap you will not get lost 😅I’m inspired by your vlog to visit Malaysia. I only visited Kota Kinabalu before. Enjoy and take care

Sir, when you say “smells amazing, somebody cooking something..” that’s right, that place is call Brickfields, the Little India of KL.. Is the aroma of the Indian foods you’re picking up..
@zam02312 күн бұрын
Yep, the monorail station is right on top some Indian resturants if I remember correctly... LOL

If you are done with the traditional malaysian food, Malaysia also has the best streetfood burgers.. Go find a Ramly Burger vendor.. :) For even better food than Kuala Lumpur, you absolutely also have to head to Penang, the food there is even better in my opinion. A trip to Malaysia isnt complete with a trip to Penang (and Langkawi) anyways. If you have enough time, please also head to Sabah :)

I think our street burger can beat any 5 star restaurant burger. He must try the benjo. I think that is unique to Malaysia.

My friend 😊 The local people are friendly and helpful. You just need to ask the right people. Since you are new here, you might not be able to differentiate between the locals and the tourists easily. You need to ask the workers in the shops preferably supervisors or above to get informations you want. All the best and be positive all the time 🫰🏻🧘🏻♀️

That security guard at 11:17, from his hand gesture (and the shape of his protuding tummy), is a Nepali. Many of those you meet on the streets will be from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal and Myanmar

Fantastic video. Google Maps can be a bit of a hit or miss. If I were you, I'd take a taxi from KL Sentral to your hotel. Be much quicker and more time to get your bearings before venturing out. :) KL is a fabulous city.

Cheaper beer is at 99 Speedmart. 7-11 or KK Mart will kill any buzz with their prices.

Tips for breezy process to use any ticket machines in msia: always pay with smaller bills note than your total amount. bc if you pay with big notes, they'll give you all the change in coins. no bills. you don't wanna carry coins that's weigh half a kilo in your pocket. better if you pay w credit cards if available. or phone apps. or the touch n go card. also if you wanna ride the city bus you must pay w touch n go card. its best if you have this card bc they are used in alot of places.

That's a very good hotel. My childhood friend and i passed by last year when they just renovated. So beautiful high class. They've got in London as well. Good choice but it can be a bit far for those didn't know where exactly it is, otherwise it's easy to find. Good video sir.

@@BarefootVlogger there's a monorail nearby Hang Tuah station about 7mins walk, and Merdeka MRT station about 12mins walk towards your right all the way. In case you need to use them.
