My third heart attack just a year and a half ago took my heart down to 25 % function. Immediately after that I went full keto. Now my doctor says that I show no signs of heart failure and my heart has been restored back to full function. Now my primary is starting to take me off and lower the amount of medication I take👍👍

I hope you read this Dr. Berg. I am a 65 year old RN, who had the privilege of being friends with a brilliant doctor. He is now gone, but not the information he shared with me. Thirty years ago he said the food pyramid was upside down, wheat is one of the least healthy item we eat, and meat, real fat, and vegetables along with plenty of water was the way to go. I watch almost all of your videos, and agree with you. Physiology is my favorite area of medicine, and you always hit it out of the ballpark. As long as I can remember the "Brewers Diet" has been around, and very effective! I appreciate your channel, and knowledge very much, and refer many of my friend to your channel. Thank you for this video, I am going to share it with friends with heart issues. I had a congenital heart murmur that went away by the time I was 45, I believe due to eating meat and vegetables, plus lots of greens, fish oil and garlic. There was no keto or paleo then (ten years ago) but I had long been aware of how carbohydrates made me feel weak and ill so had cut them down considerably. I also did an intuitive fasting as I always felt better w/o breakfast and never ate after sundown. If I were still eating carbs I would likely be a severe diabetic by now.

Hello Fadista, that’s amazing to hear. I have a more severe congenital heart defect called bicuspid aortic valve, and I was wondering if it is worth doing such things to prolong my issues, becuase many people with this disease need to get surgery at some point of their lives. Currently I have mild regurgitation and heart murmur at 17 years old. Do you believe this could help me aswell? Would appreciate them response even though its been 3 years 😅

3 yrs ago I had a heart attack that did no heart damage nor were any blockages or blood clots found. It was diagnosed Takotsubo. Only mild calcium flakes on the aroric valve were found. I now have moderate calcification with mild stenosis in the aortic valve. The mitral valve shows annulus is calcified. I've been on KETO with Berberine, Vit D3, supplements. I can barely afford them. I do daily intermitent fasting and have lost very little weight in the past 3 months. Maybe 10 - 15 lbs. I suffer with fatigue ALOT! Can only do short walks due to weakness in my legs and difficulty breathing. What can I do to rid my valves of calcification? I am 71 and also have severe osteoarthritis. My overall inflammatory pain is improved emensilly. I'm off my opiods now for 15 months. May have to take extra strength Tylenol occasionally for flare-up moments. I have about 50 pounds to loose and exercise or being active ain't happening. Not pre diabetic nor do I have bad cholesterol issues. Am hypo thyroid too.

Dr Berg, would you consider, please, an interview with heart doc, Dr Baxter Montgomery, Houston TX. He's always had his own practice and has turned lives around using raw vegan diet. I'm wondering if this could be combined with ketones. As a caregiver, I have a client at Scripps Memorial right now in heart failure, with 23 stents. Doctors are flushing fluids out of her body. I expect Dr Montgomery's protocol is her last hope for life, certainly for a better life. She has every metabolic illness symptom you can name. She has so many days of nausea, gastroparesis, problem digesting fats (no gallbladder) that she can't really get nutrition she needs through eating food plus dental issues. She would need juicer. Also Dr Montgomery says there is a change in these patients psycholocically!

Usually, I'm in pain off and on through the day and night. Very cool. I'm 72 and have had this half my life. And it may not be gone EACH AND EVERY DAY but - you will know its treatable and not with a coverup like prilosec crap that is screwing up other organs in your body. Good luck!!! Oh, and get the REAL thing - Braggs apple cider vinegar... other stuff may hurt your stomach. Thank you very much Dr Berg for yet another great video. I had a heart attack in 2017, they put a stent in to open the blocked artery. Every time i start eating keto, about a week in, i get discomfort on the left side of my neck that goes up to my left ear and left jaw. In another 4-5 days into the diet this discomfort turns into pain especially in the left jaw. So even though i really want to switch to a keto lifestyle, I always have to give it up because of this left neck/jaw issue within the first two weeks of starting keto. I have seen the doctor about this who ordered an ultrasound of the carotid arteries, which came back normal. Desperately looking for answers, will appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

I get heart discomfort after about 4-5 days eating Keto as well. If i were you I’d go for a whole plant based diet first. Then reintroduce animal fats in a month or two. Very slowly. The quickest way to heal those arteries is simply eating veggies and fruit, and only few grains like wild rice, quinoa, organic oats. no animal products. It works better when you intermittent fast at least 18/6

Ok. I will ask you this instead. I don't have heart disease (at least that I know of). I' m a skinny guy who is tinkering with his diet for quite a while. For what I understood so far, diet is the most important thing. An I say that out of 10 years direct experience. I tried vegetarian, fructarian, no dairy, no meat, no gluten, ABO diet. With no success so far. My last trial is keto. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I feel overwhelmingly exhausted in just a few days, I need to carb up after a week just to keep going. I play tennis. I used to warm up after two hours and keep going forever. In keto I'm out of breath after 20 minutes. I don't know what to do. I'm doing this since January. Please help!

Yes, recovery after exercise is one of the best ways to gauge heart health. You can take it a step further by placing the oximeter on your finger during the fast walk to make sure your oxygen levels remain consistent. @@keto7763 you need to stay in ketosis--thats the issue my friend. Carbs hold water in glycogen which bloats you. Carbs also inflame your intestines and cause bowel issues. Your issue is going back to carbs so stop it!! ;)

I AM 55 WITH CHF. I AM NOT ABLE TO SLEEP..... I THINKT IS DUE TO INSULIN RESISTANCE. I EAT ONCE I DAY, BUT LATELY, I HAVE BEEN FEELING NAUSEA AND WEAK....I READ IF I DO NOT EAT THE ACID IN THE STOMACH WITH BE UPSET. I ALSO READ THAT CHF MAY CAUSE WEAKNESS AND FATIGUE. I WAS A HEALTHY BUCK IN MY 20'S AND 30'S....BUT I LOST MY MOTHER, LOST EVERYTTHING, I WAS HOMELESS. NOW I LIVE IN A SECTION 8 APT, BUT MEDS IN STEAD OF HELPING YOU THEY BANDAID THE ISSUE...BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, YOU ARE DEAD. IT IS UNFORTUNATE YOU ARE IN ANOTHER STATE. I LIVE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. DR'S OF TODAY ARE SCHOOL GRADS.....I RATHER GO WITH A DR THAT KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. EVEN HOLISTIC CARDIO DR'S HERE DO NOT KNOW THE ACTUAL ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. I KNOW IF I DID NOT HAVE THIS CHF, I WOULD NOT HAVE THESE ISSUES. I DO ALOT OF RESEARCH AS WELL...1-818-633-4206/PST
