Jess We are with you for the entire journey. Back when you started i joined you at 287. By the time you got to your lowest I could not get below 200. But I was so happy for you and still loved my progress even though I hovered and stalled at 203-208. Then a cascade of events and horrific losses of properties and financial stress. I gained 50 pounds in 3 months and stayed up and down at 250-260 for two years! So here I am with you. On January 1st i was 261 and today Im down to 248-245. I just know getting the fat cells to shrink and to really lose the fat is not as easy as you get older. Im 62 and it has required incredible discipline to be very low carb and also timed eating. Nothing after 6pm. I am so happy you are getting your groove back. For me working out it harder and Minnesota its too cold to go for a walk. So for me this month is the month to get moving and finding something for strength training. Electrollytes for me kill the crave. 🙏🏻 God bless your journey, stay strong and Keto-On!💪🏻~ GG from Minneapolis.

For the critics of this channel: most of us with food addictions will continue this way as I believe Jess will. If her commitment to her viewers keeps her on track, let it be. Food addiction is not like cigarettes, alcohol,, or illicit drugs. You can give them up forever, but one still must eat. It makes it the most difficult addiction, in my opinion.

Honesty or telling the truth about our weight is the hardest thing anyone does. Especially those of us who have been overweight for a long time. Because we are ashamed of it. We label ourselves by what the scale says. As soon as you face it, you can do something about it.

I lost 44 lbs back in 2021. Took 9 1/2 months. The hardest part is maintaining. The scale is just a tool, keeps you accountable. As soon as I’m up 5 lbs, I get strict again. There’s no miracle plan. Slow and steady wins the race. And, our wealth is in our health! Best of luck, you got this!

Hi Jess! I was trying to go back to your old meal plans when you had the clean 30 challenge in January and June, and neither one of the links works anymore. I used those meal plans in the past, and they were a great tool and were hoping to use them again. I'm back on keto again with you and am almost the exact same height and weight (and even lost the same as you in the last week in a half!) You are such an inspiration to me and i appreciate how you always remind me I have to put me first because I rarely do. We got this! See ya next week!

Wow! I happened upon this video and feel like I'm hearing my own experiences being played back at me. I lived happily and successfully eating keto for two years. Last Spring, however, I had a hysterectomy and like you mentioned in the clip, just a few bites of something threw me off the whole thing. I'm now at my second go at eating healthfully, Keto/week 2 and the confidence boost is like a dear old friend. As you mentioned, I'm amazed all over again at how easy the cravings go away after about a week and it becomes much easier to eat well and avoid sugar. Every morning I'm thankful that my power coffee sustains me until noon or even longer. For everyone else going into this for the first time, it's not lip service (at least in my case) to say that this way of eating is a natural appetite suppressant. Going back to tried and true, easy meals is key as well. Thanks for sharing your experience. I was feeling a little...hmm...nervous that the scale stopped moving the past two days, and that's how I found your week 2 video. You reminded me that the week 1 weight loss is excellent, but you can't expect that kind of loss every week. I know this works, and it feels good to feel solidarity with those of you choosing to change your lives for the better-especially for our kids. I will admit to doing this for vanity's sake as well, as my confidence and self-esteem increases as I start to look and feel like myself again. Cheers to you and looking forward to watching your videos!

One year ago I stopped eating starches and sugars. One week in I made sure I ate less than 50 grams of carbs. Keto-vorish. Week three, carnivore. Over the year I went from 194.4 to 163.8. I am 74 so did not expect to be the BMI suggested weight or even need to be. I was working on the fatty liver. I was improving health and my sense of WELLBEING. The feeling of joy and less anxiety from unbalanced hormonal levels from insulin resistance returned. Insulin is the main problem with excessive fat storage and liver function. That is the key.

I use MyFitnessPal app and log everything. I don’t eat processed food. I try to eat simple one ingredient as you stated, meat, vegetables etc. As of last Wednesday I am down 24.6 pounds. Averaged about 1 pound per week. I prefer to lose slow and steady instead of fast. Look forward to more videos from you Jess. Have a great day.

Good luck. Getting back on can be difficult, especially when life kicks in. I am still trying to gain weight so I am still tracking how much (or how little) I eat and trying to eat higher fat and higher protein. Still avoiding processed carbs as much as possible. Being honest with myself. I still have to weigh myself again (did it a few weeks ago) Hoping for another couple of pounds up (I lost way too much during the months I had my dentures put in) and I am giving myself 6 months to 8 to gain about 12 pounds back. I went way too low. Also I am doing sugar-free January (so far I have only fallen off one time) and February (Valentines will be the hardest for me). I have given myself a couple of rules - make my own sugar-free sweets to combat junk food cravings, do not buy any actual store bought snacks and listen to my body. We will see how it goes. We are not perfect.

I’ve followed you now a number of years and I see you have always had an awesome plan. My problem is, it never lasts. I lose then gain it all back. Knowing this, I can’t seem to avoid this. My friends don’t look at me as a good example because I gain it back. Is there a different way out there to keep me from falling off the wagon? I tried everything you mentioned it doesn’t work long term.

@@politerabbit3100 I was 68 when I learned how to lose weight and keep it off. I lost 131 pounds in two years and kept every pound off for over the last 4 years now. I used keto for the first 4 months to get fat adapted then went to OMAD eating only real foods. Eating correctly over time and getting fat adapted took away my hunger and my craving. When you lose the hunger and cravings by eating the correct foods 100 percent of the time it made weight loss and maintenance very easy. Before I would lose 70 pounds and gain it back over and over and over and over and over a never ending cycle. Good Luck.

Being Carnivore for the past 8 months has helped me to learn the difference between food noise and foods that trigger. Food noise is your body telling you that it needs nutrition and this requires REAL FOOD! That is why your brain is constantly thinking about food but the SAD is full of fillers and chemicals, all processed. We keep reaching and are never satisfied so we continue the cycle. This causes inflammation and the lack of pure animal fats has caused hormonal issues in females. Foods that trigger have an emotional attachment that can be based on traditions such as cookies during the holidays, enjoying those nachos or a blooming onion when out eating with the family.....I started carnivore in a panic after losing my Wegovy Rx but stayed on it as an elimination protocol because crazy enough I learned seafood has inflammatory properties. Eight years ago I lost 30 lbs in 4 months doing Keto and was able to keep it off until Covid. Since then Keto has been hijacked by the food industry and once again manufactured and processed foods with chemicals and add fiber to bring down the carb count. Protein powders and colligen peptides are a HUGE supplement now prevalent on WW and Keto right now. Carnivore has also turned me toward looking closely at ingredients and seed oils. With all of this being said my January is being dedicated to a ketovore WOE which has always been my intent. I am adding low carb veg, hard cheeses, and clean heavy cream back into my food consumption. I eat to fuel my body instead of always eating for pleasure although lets get real there is a heck of a lot of pleasure in a 16 oz rib eye....Thank goodness my Dr is onboard with either way of eating and my family has been hugely supportive. Good luck as I have really enjoyed watching your content/progress no matter the ups and downs. (sorry this is so long)

Just curious if you have a congestive heart failure history why do you drink electrolytes each day? As a nurse, that concerns me.
@davidadcock3382
@davidadcock3382 14 күн бұрын
Electrolytes are important even though LNMT is a not a good one. When you eat real food you do not get as much salt as others do and salt is important. Are you saying that electrolytes are not good for the Heart?? If so please explain in detail why??
@feliciannurse
@feliciannurse 14 күн бұрын
@davidadcock3382 i’m not saying electrolytes are not important, what I’m saying is unless someone is doing strenuous activity, the need for electrolytes, even if they are eating real food, are not a necessity. I am especially concerned because she stated that she has a history of CHF. With that type of history, you should always be eating a low sodium diet. The reason a low sodium diet is recommended for people with a history of congestive heart failure is because consuming too much sodium can lead to fluid retention, which puts additional strain on a weakened heart, worsening symptoms like swelling and shortness of breath. Essentially, reducing sodium intake helps lessen the workload on the heart by managing fluid levels in the body. Hope that makes sense 🙏🏼
@davidadcock3382
@davidadcock3382 14 күн бұрын
@@feliciannurse FALSE. She is not getting to much sodium eating real food and one needs a good electrolyte. When I started losing my weight eating real food after my Doctor did my blood work he wanted me to go straight to hospital because my sodium levels where so low. When you are given fluids at the hospital, the solution typically contains saline (a mixture of salt and water), which is designed to closely match the electrolyte concentration of human blood, preventing cell damage from fluid imbalances. You clearly have little knowledge on this subject. You are probably one of those people standing out in the pasture telling one of my cows that she can only have one lick a day on the salt block. That is the problem with our medical industry they have NO training in nutrition and think every answer is in a drug. I suffered from Acid Reflux for years and the doctor had me taking enough Prilosec to kill a horse over the years. When I started taking an electrolyte it all went away and stayed away. Why??? Acid Reflux is caused by LACK of ENOUGH STOMACH ACID. Without enough stomach acid your values in your stomach will not work correctly. What is stomach acid made of? SALT!!!!!! Hope that makes sense.
