I wonder why this has so little likes or comments. This is the best recommendation I've found. Especially moving the mic to the side. I had Presence & Drive enabled, and talking - I sounded very boomy, even harsh. Now with the right positioning - which I rarely saw on other "setup" videos, I sound WAY more calm. Thanks!

I have a question. I have the Shure SM7B, and even though I have all the components you used in the video and all the connections are correct, the microphone generates background noise, like a sound of rain. I think that’s called static. How did you solve it? I’ve tried everything and I haven’t been able to fix it. I changed the interface, bought another XLR cable, and tried connecting it to all the ports on my PC, but nothing works. I don’t know what to do anymore, or if this noise is normal for the microphone. Can you help me with that, please?

I am trying to set up my wife so that she can sing and record herself. I got an M2 Macbook (64 RAM/38 GPU), Kanto Speakers YU4 with a Kanto Sub8, and I have just recently bought her the Shure SM58 mic for her Karaoke machine. Can I use this mic, or should I get a different one for her to record herself (using KZbin Karaoke or Karafun), what's the best interface (one mic only) that takes up the less amount or room that won't break the bank (aiming $200 or less), what the best Boom Arm ($150 or less), and my last question should I keep speakers connected to my computer or is it better to have it connected to my audio interface? Do you have a program suggestion for this type of recording? Thank you so much, not sure who else to ask.
@Akira.219 ай бұрын
I know it's pretty late, but most interfaces should work with that mic, I definitely recommend the interface shown on this video, the focusrite scarlett 2i2, even though it's not one mic only, you can use it as such and have the second channel as a backup, or in case you need to swap to an instrument quickly and without changing many settings and gain levels. Also in terms of arms, the elgato wave arms are very nice, they have one thats a low profile, stays lower to the desk and then a normal wave arm, that can move more freely, similar to the video. Overall, it's very opiniated in terms of setups and it depends on your use, for example are you using a desk for the setup, if not do you need a mic stand or boom arm etc.
