We don't hate the English people, that's just not true. The vast majority of us hate Westminster. We also hate that the English consistently vote for the tories, therefore we get a tory government which almost nobody in Scotland wants (I think it was around 1955 the last time the tories won in Scotland at a GE). Our media (BBC in particular) is all from an English perspective too. Over 63% of Scotland voted to stay in the EU but we get taken out of that due to the English. We want England to loose at sports, particularly football, but that's mostly due to the TV pundits. Whenever there is a WC or Euros we get English TV pundits, analysis, commentators, etc. - we're not English! Imagine you had to watch a tournament and it was all about France or Germany for example. Many England fans are bellends too with the WW2 songs, etc. Sorry to hear you had a bad time with a taxi driver, we've got our fair share of fannies up here too. 🍻

Many years ago now when I was in the Navy we were in Jersey when the old Home Championships were on and went ashore to find somewhere to watch the England Scotland game ... we only found one pub, went in and yep, you guessed it ... full to the rafters with Scots ... there were 5 of us and an army of them, which we didn't realise until we actually got to the bar and ordered the beers .. Long story short, throughout the entire match, which England won, the verbal abuse was loud and strong and when the third goal went in we knew we were in danger, except we weren't. At half time and again after the game, the atmosphere completely changed ... laughing with us and buying the beers. Stand out memory of watching sports in a bar to this day and that was over 40 years ago - '79 I think

Great story Frank ,i use to love seeing the Scots fans abroad in tournaments getting pi**d .No hint of trouble .And i was the guy cheering them on when Archie Gemmill went on his run and scoured against Holland .And i'm English .But they should still build a wall 😜😉

He cracks me up this fella. For what it's worth I am a proud Englishman football, rugby and 6 nation fan.i understand the rivalry it's why I love the 6 nations, each nation playing with their own style.of course in a world cup when england go out I want the welsh,Scots or irish to go as far as possible.some people take it a bit too far but to most of us it's a healthy pisstaking rivalry ,its fantastic.
