first of all youre wrong,the highest gerrard has finished in the ballon dor voting is 3rd,in 2005 when ronaldinho won and lamps got second. Had the 19-20 season had ballon dor,kdb would be anywhere from 2nd to 4th,only lewa and messi were his competitors. Kdb has won premier league player of the year,something gerrard hasnt done,and hes won players poty twice consecutively,which only ronaldo and henry have done. Both of them do very well in big games,but kdb is even more clutch in big games. Take just this season,hes scored against chelsea,twice against liverpool,against atletico,against real,twice against manu. Literally every huge game theyve played. And btw it isnt just his goals,his performances in some of those were outstanding

I completely agree that Gerrard was world class midfielder. But the way Gerrard played those attributes were seen in many players who played before him like Glen hoddle, Lampard etc. KDB playing style his passing style his awareness was never seen ever before. It's like Zidane type. You know what I mean. His side plays best football that we have ever seen and he is integral part of that team. So i think KDB will surpass Gerrard as a player. Overall recognition of KDB is also there. He is generational talent.

De Bruyne is brilliant and may very well end up as the best. But the lack of appreciation for Gerrard is mental imo. I think there is a bias for players who have more continental styles of play, and the fact that Gerrard is so physically overpowering as a midfielder is harder to appreciate. But the mental thing is that on top of being fast, strong and a brilliant tackler, Gerrard has a heck of a ping on him and could cross with the best of them. He has so many iconic moments and is as complete a midfielder there's every been in the history of football.

😐 As a Madrid fan, I have to say Faysal's take on Ancelotti is so one-sided. He COMPLETELY ignores the fact that Ancelotti has turned Vini into one of the best players on the planet. Criticise him all you want Faysal, but at least admir that he unlocked Vini in a way Zidane couldn't. With the resources at our disposal this season, that's a huge W that could pay dividends for the next decade. Faysal acts as if Vini was already this guy before Ancelotti got here. He was NO WHERE NEAR. Not everything a coach does is about "tactics". Man management can change a player's whole life.

Ancelotti isn't tactically all that great but he knows how to utilize his best players. He has done it with milan and his first Madrid stint. In game management, tactical play, rotation aren't his strong suits but he can turn a 5 goal benzema into a 40 goal benzema. He knows what to do with the big names, the game changers. There is a reason he has won so much.

I usually agree with faysal’s points, even as a Barca fan. But that take was awful, he also said many wrong facts, madrid in the 16 to 18 seasons won 3 ucls, one la liga and one super cup. In 17/18 they were horrible in la liga, got 3rd place. Not to mention the season after that they went trophy less and got 3rd place again. During pep’s era we won back to back to back la ligas and two ucl’s, plus 2 copa del Rey’s and 2 super cups. I am not being biased but I don’t think it should even be a debate.

KDB's vision and passing range is absolutely unique. His assist montage alone is just absolutely special. And honestly, doesn't even need to look and doesn't need any space to assist: check out his assist for Jesus against Real first leg 19/20. Extremely two footed. Most long range goals in the PL since he joined. Extremely good ball progression. Extremely hard worker/strong press. The guy has literally everything. Out of all the "best PL midfielders in history" he's by far the most complete.

Might as well join the debate. KDB is incredible, and there is no question he's up there with Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard in terms of all time greats in the Premier League. He is very much a complete midfielder in the sense that he controls games so well, on both ends of the pitch. I would also claim that he is the best passer in world football right now.

Barca's reign is the greatest dynasty of a team ever. The sheer amount of trophy's they won, they dominated practically ever team they played with their revolutionary style of football. Real Madrids 3 UCLs was crazy, but they didn't dominate in the way that barca did. Also Messi's 93 goal year came under pep, the craziest stat line I've ever heard of in football.

KDB is definitely nailed a starting spot in PL Xl & he’s without a doubt above Gerrard, Scholes & Lampard. His silky smooth running with the ball, his delivery better than Beckham in terms of crossing with both feet & from any position/situation on the field, terrific first touch/ball control with an IQ among the greats, can strikes with both feet precession/power & techniques. Winning 3 UCL's in a row is fucking ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if it never happens again in my lifetime. But simply because it's so much variance. Count the amount of wrong offside/refereeing decisions Real needed to make that three-peat happen. Half of it was down to sheer luck. They got through via luck vs clearly better teams (like the Bayern team in 2018). How can you call that a "dynasty"? It's hard to call any kind of success in the UCL a "dynasty" anyways bc: you only play a handful of teams. And a different handful each time. City got to the finals last season playing Gladbach, Dortmund and PSG. That's it. Liverpool this season got to the finals playing Benfica and Villarreal. How do you turn that into a "dynasty". You have to dominate your league - 38 games vs more or less the same set of 19 opponents over several yeas. Barca didn't just do that. They also dominated the football meta. Every relevant team either tried to play like them or tried to find a way that works against them. That's a true dynasty. People talk to this day about the football Pep's Barca played. I've never heard anyone talk about how that three-peat Real team actually played. Wouldn't be that much to rave about I assume, considering their "style of play" got them out of the title race by January already in one of those seasons.

There are so many factors that come into play such as who is De Bruyne playing with and who Gerrard played with and I think that is the biggest one in my opinion. Gerrard won the Champions League with an average Liverpool team against arguably the best AC Milan team ever. De Bruyne is in a team of superstars who make the runs, assist him and and give him the ball even though he has that world class quality it is tainted by how amazing the squad is in my opinion.
