That's the thing lol, you're only worth what a defensive specialist is worth if all you can do I score. You either have scoring and defense, or scoring and playmaking while being well rounded on defense. A bonafide star franchise player essentially does what 2-3 specialists can do, if KD excels at scoring and is meh at best on others he's essentially a glorified role player, and if you look at him as one itll make sense why he's always had to stack teams to maintain his relevancy. LeBron and Giannis are forces of nature, Curry and Jokic are entire offenses by themselves, KD is a scorer that needs a lot of help to be competent.

Bit disappointed that the overall message was missed here. Yes, Ryan Davis was roasting KD and a lot of critical info was left out that tells the whole story of KD’s legacy, but the fact remains, better defence is the thing that gives your offence that edge in winning. KD’s 3-1 lead loss is a testament to that. People will keep pulling out Russ in that series, but KD’s shooting % contributed heavily as well. Defending and Rebounding gives you more chances at the basket when the shot isn’t going down. KD is a great player, but if the GOAT MJ had to be a defensive player to win 6, what about KD? MJ is the model for a great player. His interviews even back up the idea that if you hold the opponent to 1 possession per play, and you get multiple looks at the basket, chances are you’re going to win. Ryan is totally right!
