so true. ever since iron man 2008, all the superheroes directly under marvel studios, did not change the character's personality. Although suits were changed, it was done rather well and reasons are legit. they might have cut out iron mans alcoholism problem, but they had no choice as its under disney but they worked well around other issues. DC however, Nolans Batman was very different from the comics -dont have an intimidating, wise, brooding character with basic fighting skills. BvS however, smh. so close yet so far. batman kills when he has been established for so long now that he doesnt kill not since the 60s i think. Superman, should have been like captain america in civil war. not a sad dude whos so lost.

One thing that stood out to me in this video is that when Kevin Fiege threatened quit over budget differences for Civil War, he stood his ground because he knows what the fans want along with vision that he has. So glad that Kevin Feige no longer has to answer to Isaac Perlmutter on decisions for the movies. One reason why the Inhumans movie was taken off the schedule was because that was Perlmutter's project and wasn't part of the narrative that Feige wanted to tell up to that point. The deal with Sony over Spider-Man also was a major factor too.

+Aidan Wagner You have to have comedy in your movies. If you make everything dark and gritty then you limit your movies to only one demographic of people.
@CaptainRex968 жыл бұрын
+Aidan Wagner Yeah but in America that makes a huge portion of sales. If movies have a PG-13 rating, that means parents can bring their kids which statistically means more movie tickets being bought. I can't help to think, is he doing it for the money? of course he is and it's totally fine with me 'cause (and this is just my humble opinion, I'm no expert) Feige is doing it with a lot of love and respect for the characters and the fans. also he has criteria, intelligence and common sense translating the comics to the big screen, I'm not one of those hardcore comic fans who hates the movies for not being and exact copy of the original comic, I see them as they are, "adaptations for the big screen". the castings are totally amazing...I'm very happy with the movies, like the majority of the people, fans and movie enthusiasts. i like this guy in charge of things. I see Kevin Feige as a good example on how if you put you're heart and you're mind on the work you're doing you'll make a lot of people happy and you're success will rise more and more

I had never read a comic book, when I was younger (I'm only 17 but you get the idea xD) I thoguht about heroes like Superman or Spiderman, saving a girl or an entire city, having a debility, hiding thrir identities and all those superhero stereotypes, and the MCU changed all that to me, I never thought about gods saving world, wizards controlling space-time and I never imagine watching more than 2 superheroes in a movie. It changed everything, is for comic fans and for movies fans. PS: Can someone recommend me a comic to understand better Dr. Strange? PS2: Sorry for bad english, I'm latino

Permutter was also a misogynist and didnt want a female led superhero movie. After Perlmutter was ousted Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Black Widow went into production.

I would argue that it's not just because of Feige. Many companies have run out of ideas for brands and realise that sequels aren't the best when there are too many, so they are naturally turning anyway to spin offs.

I had no idea about Patty Jenkins having a split with Marvel, while I don't know the details about what the creative differences were, I can see why Feige selected her in the first place.

Kevin Feige is doing amazing with the Marvel cinematic universe but other companies are taking influence in a bad way. Like how DLC is good in theory and intention but many companies abuse it too cut content and I feel like other cinematic universes are doing this in a bad way to rush all their characters together to get to the stage where Marvel is at but don't get why Marvel took 4 years to get to the first Avengers movie.
@TVJunkie938 жыл бұрын
Movie studios will take profit over patience any day, which is why many of them are rushing to create their own cinematic universe without the proper world building.
@MrTimoth38 жыл бұрын
Yes but these studios really ought to know by now that if a movie does not live up to a fan community's reputation then they can tear that shit to pieces, Batman Vs Superman had a massive drop off point after the first week when the reviews came in.

To be fair, Feige was not the problem when it came to certain directors getting frustrated with Marvel. The Marvel Creative Committee were the ones creating the hostility among directors and actors. Now that Feige answers only to Horn and Iger, things are different.
@Scyllaya8 жыл бұрын
+ROArecords2 Yeah, and Ike "Female Heroes Don't Make Money" Perlmutter, who pushed aside heroes like Wasp, when Joss Whedon wanted to bring her in back in The Avengers. Perlmutter, didn't want to pay enough to the directors for sequels, he didn't want to pay money for composers for sequels etc... Now with him gone I see an even brighter future for the MCU!
