Kevin Flynn enters the Digiverse

This video, if it doesn't get taken down over copyright issues, is here because of a joke one of my friends made. While we were watching Tron, he played the Digimon theme when Flynn gets sucked into the Grid. This video is that, but in one video instead of two. Tron is property of Disney, and I don't actually know who owns Digimon, but I know I don't.

I actually envy you that you're going to get to watch the original as an unexpected bonus. It's one of the most well written science fiction pieces, has the fucking iconic Wendy Carlos soundtrack, and that look like (because it is) rotoscoped hand painted live action scenes. This was a huge step in all CG, and running on monstrous computing equipment of the time.

@@ICET100 Well, having been a computer programmer myself it's incredibly silly. So was Disney's terrible attempt at understanding and attempting to make a film surrounding computer tech.

@@davebartosh5 In all fairness, the context of that line is coming from a point of view that isn't computer programming language known to a computer programmer, rather than the anthropomorphizing of computer programs and/or the energy inside the functions of a computer. It's very far from being an attempt to inform or help people understand the reality of computer technology. In this context, for the MCP to say, "You're entering a big error" is, for me, just equivalent to someone saying, "You are going to make a serious mistake if you do that." To me, it's one of the most imaginative and original films ever made.

@@JiM-SWEET-art Well, I had high hopes for Tron, and was disappointed. Charachters, especially Tron himself were weak and childish. But they were targeting that kind of audience. Legacy was better, in my opinion. I quote Tron all the time,. like a silly B movie that it is. END OF L:INE

Watched this for the first time a few weeks ago. I saw Legacy when I was much younger. So glad I saw the original. It's amazing what they were able to do in 1982. Can't think of a movie that early in the era of computers that used CGI like that. Truly revolutionary. It obviously shows its age now. Looks like a PS1 game, but as a 3D Artist myself I find it fascinating to look at and imagine how amazing it must have been for someone in the early 80s when computers were still a decade from becoming a common household item Also nice Digimon edit haha

I also saw Legacy first, but something about the original movie hits different. Maybe it was the plot, or the slight gray tint everything except for Tron and Sark had, but it's a weirdly comfortable summer movie.
