I will in this case. That PPV wasn’t being sold on that one Bret vs Shawn match. To complete the story between Taker and Diesel, Diesel had to hit the jackknife before Taker pulled him under. It would have added more to their match than it would have subtracted from Bret vs Shawn. Because in the end, Taker STILL pulled Diesel under. They literallly did everything else in the finish except the jackknife.

@@shadycnetwork if it’s part of the game then why did Brett cry when Hogan did that to Brett? I know Hogan felt protecting his spot was a shoot but if Brett lives by the same logic, why hold a grudge? Either you are a team player and willing to do as you’re told or you are gonna be difficult when things don’t suit yo. You can’t play both sides and that’s what Brett does. I understand his beef with Shawn, it was personal but not losing in Canada and refusing to take Nash’s finisher despite not doing the job is abusing your spot. You go from a dominant, well protected main eventer to a midcard jobber. Someone like Glenn Jacobs might be okay with that, but that doesn't mean Bret Hart had to be. This story was debunked by JR and Bruce Prichard. Nash is making crap up to justify jumping to WCW for the money rather than just saying he went for the money - which is a perfectly acceptable reason to jump. Let’s pretend this Nash story were true, then Bret had Undertaker pissed off at him and stood his ground - that makes Bret more of a badass than Nash or Taker as he didn’t care what they thought. He was the alpha in the room.

It was Brets first PPV match as champ after winning it at WM10, yet in shoots Nash always cries about how his first ppv title defense after winning belt he had a draw with Bret. @MKD58 Media Bret just wanted another reason to complain and be a victim. That's all his career is based off of. He victimized himself over Wrestlemania, over losing the title in general, over helping others go over, over his brother's death, over the company telling him no, all of that. He wanted what he wanted and if anyone told him no and fought back he would make an ass out of himself to embarrass the company. But the fact he also made himself a victim after Owen's death is kind of messed up. It wasn't just his brother died and he was devastated, he straight up made his brother's death into a shoot

However this was just a few weeks after Bret fought Undertaker at the Royal Rumble and took the Tombstone before Diesel interfered and a few weeks before he was about to drop the belt to Shawn at Mania. Even when he won the belt from Diesel in the first place he was immediately laid out. So really Bret was being made to look like a weak champ. That's five PPVs from Survivor Series where he won it to WrestleMania where he dropped it and three of those ended with either Bret on his back or someone saving him from getting beat. This would have made four of five PPVs. I don't blame him one bit for putting his foot down at some point. Bulldog at In Your House was the only one to put Bret over clean that entire title run.
