Part of the genius of the script is Kevin's use of the Victorian prosaic speech. Anne's attempts to elevate herself by speaking in semi-awkward prosaic speech is so very endearing and forces the viewer to pay attention to the beauty that she's tapped into. Well done! Excellent casting, excellent setting, excellent choice of dramatic scenes to include in time you had to work with.

A Perfect cast! I say perfect! There can't ever be anyone else to duplicate these characters that are truly the original characters in the book! Beautifully done, magical, and brilliant, absolutely perfect each and everyone! I love Matthew. He reminded me so much of my own grandfather. So precious. A movie that became real and touched our hearts.

Thank you for filming the AOGG trilogy movies, I LOVE 'EM ALL and have watched many, many, many times to this date. The love story of Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe is an inspiration to everybody. You had an excellent choice of having Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie as lead and lovely couple of the story. They are perfect match. Love 'em both. God Bless you all.

With all of the characters, they were so multi-layered. amThe series just made me want to see more and more of them. I am sorry to say that for me, all other versions suffer by comparison

The sequel may be a departure from the books' story, but it keeps the feeling and atmosphere. It is also true that because film medium is so different from book medium, it is quite impossible to cry for 3 hours straight while reading as one does watching the films.

I have read the AOGG's books when I was young, later watched your movies. They are beautifully written & very lovely to watch. Because it wasn't about Anne, it was about the town of Avonlea and the people in it! Anne and Gilbert had gotten together and moved on during the time frame of Avonlea....Road to Avonlea's storyline basically paralleled Anne and Gilbert's life but separately......

i loved the first two movies..even if i didnt see em right when they aired on tv. the third and fourth were ok, but i just cant understand why they didnt follow the books an stay true to the story. i mean....so much is missing from each part. it would've made a better tv series an hour long instead of movies...maybe. and the Morgan guy from part 2 was totally original. thats what i hate about hollywood sometimes..they completely FK up great classic books when they adapt them for the big screen. Megan isnt that old, if she ever wanted to do another round of Anne movies..and do it right maybe.
