This is the video that outlines all of Kevin Wendell Crumb's known personalities, and the abilities of his hidden 24th personality... AKA THE BEAST. This video is going to outline the personalities of Barry, Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig, Orwell, Jade, and of course, THE BEAST.
Split is a 2016 American psychological horror thriller film written, co-produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Betty Buckley. The film follows a man with 23 different personalities who kidnaps and imprisons three teenage girls in an isolated underground facility.

They know he’s not Barry, he’s only pretending to fool Doctor fletcher, who ends up figuring it out anyway.

this video is a pretty faulty "explanation" if you ask me, a lot of what's said here is either incorrect or the complete opposite of what's true (for example, when he said the Beast kills "pure" people, even though both him and Dennis and Patricia and Hedwig said several times that those who have not felt pain are the impure ones, which is why the Beast called Casey pure in the end)

If one of the two ppl thinks they are in an alliance, and the second considers the former their minion, then you might say you've got a situation with pawns. If any personality has control over fish... you could find yourself in a situation with _prawns._

@@delycan4912 I thought the ending was great and ended in the most logical manner. David died doing what he was born to do, protecting the innocent. The beast died avenging the broken which was the reason Kevin created that personality. Glass died believing his life purpose was to create superheroes and expose their existence to the public. All three characters died having accomplished their lifes purpose. The surveillance footage of the beast and David's fight would be seen by millions on the Internet. This in turn would give other super humans a reason to come forward and embrace their destiny

I’m starting to think that the link to David, Kevin and Elijah’s powers are linked to one thing...trauma. David with the near drowning, Kevin with the loss of his father and Elijah with his fragile bones. All of these are their weaknesses but gain something to compensate for these weaknesses. I’m starting to wonder if that girl that survived in Split may display something in Glass when it comes out, in some form or fashion. Like healing the wounded or something since her weakness was self harm and abuse.

She displayed powers in Split. If you noticed it. I think she has powers of persuasion, or something similar to empaths from other fiction. When she grabbed one of the other girls, it blurred, focused, and she calmed her down. I think this was showing her power. It is something a little more subtle. Trauma is the trigger, though. You are correct!

Her power felt more like insight to me. She seemed to have an instinctive understanding of each of the personalities as they appeared. This allows her to be quite persuasive and to even slightly manipulate the different personalities. A low grade type of empathy sounds way better though!

I think Casey's gift is to be invisible for just a few seconds. Because in Split Dennis didn't notice her until she moved her hand and touched the door. And then I think she also has something with animals just because of the hunting scenes and her uncle pretending to be an animal before he abused her.- and of course because she could communicate with the Beast and her ability to communicate and see his personalities really clear is probably social skills she picked up to protect herself

I kind of get that but with Legion you don't know what the f*** is going to do with Kevin you kind of can get the basis of what's going to happen and what's he going to do with Legion you don't know what's going to happen you can show up one day and kill and murder a bunch of other people and then the next day he could save a bunch of people with Kevin is very precise The Horde is organized and knows which personalities to use with Legion his personalities are all over the place and they don't know how to fix him even Professor Xavier States himself that I can't help Legion repair his mind even if I got all the personalities together in one consensus there is no way I could ever control him or help him to deal with the personalities with Kevin his personalities are organized The Horde is organized they know what they need to do and know that they need to feed the beast if they don't someone is going to die or get Kevin aka the body killed so they all know that they need to feed the beast The Horde is agreed on that so they go around finding people who are not pure and get them killed The Horde seems to toy with the victims until the Beast is ready to feed with Legion you don't know what's going to happen he could murder and burn and destroy an entire city one day or just in 24 hours and then in the middle of slaughtering all those people he can flip his personality and be like oh I would have ever happened let me see all these people and then after that one minute he could just be a sociopath and just kill people just for the fun of it or mentally mind f*** a person just because

The most OP superhuman with DID is David Haller, aka Legion. I was shocked he wasn't on your list. One of his personalities replaced Marvel's mainstream universe with the Age of X reality. Another has a healing factor stronger than Deadpools. Say what you will about Franklin Richards but if Legion ever fully integrated his mind, he'd be top dog in the Marvel Universe.

Conceding Malloy's immense power, he never demonstrated the power to simply replace one reality with another. Jaspers and the Marquis did each have their own mental instabilities, but they did not exhibit multiple independent identities/personalities.

@@endangeredspecies8441 I am familiar with that channel. On December 22, 2018 he released “Too Powerful for Marvel Movies: Legion” where he flatly called Legion a cosmic level threat. Malloy wasn’t half that. Having read the Malloy saga (if you could call it that) myself, I don't need third party explanations. My reading comprehension is just fine. So good, that I am certain Malloy did nothing on par with what Legion's personality Moira did when she literally replaced reality with Age of X. Indeed Legion's personality Endgame would suffice against Malloy, not to speak of his heavy hitters like Time-Sink (who could just time whammy him the way a relatively weak x-man did), Styx, the Origamist, and most definitely Moira. Just because Bendis is a hack and had to retcon his own story, that does not give Malloy special pride of place. More to the point, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HEROES WITH DID. Matthew Malloy IS NOT that. Please note, I never said Legion is the most powerful comic book character. I said he was the most overpowered WITH DID.

I watched Split recently and you got a few details wrong. 1. Hedwig: Hedwig doesn't specifically get "recalled" by Dennis & Ms. Patricia, but rather because he respects their authority he Gives up the light to them when they ask him to. 2. The scene at the end with Kevin: In that final scene, the beast doens't win that struggle, Hedwig does... Calling kevin's full name causes him to lose control and let all the personalities come out at random in what the psychiatrist refers to as "chaos" and Kevin would've stayed in that unstable state for the rest of his life but... in the middle of the chaos, Hedwig uses his ability to "grab the light at any time" to regain control , stop the chaos, and then give that control to the Horde as they are the personalities he listens to and has partnered with. and the horde then subsequently gives the light to the beast for that last scene where he chases Casey around and soaks up 2 shotgun blasts. And FYI, those blasts did break the skin, but they didn't go through the bone... that's what he commented when pulling out the buckshot from his shoulder wound. 3. The beast is intelligent. He's the one that calls Casey "pure" he's the one that decides not to kill her, and he is the one with the goal of "killing the unpure" Also, since the beast is meant to be Kevin's Ultimate form of self-preservation, it's likely he's very intelligent. Dennis said outright that he is the biggest & strongest of the 23 personalities, but the 24th personality, the beast, is even bigger and stronger than him. Dennis was the strongest attempt at self-preservation by Kevin to date and he was very intelligent so it stands to reason that the beast, Kevin's Ultimate form of self-preservation, would be at least as intelligent, if not more-so, than Dennis. I mean, the beast wouldn't be able to protect Kevin from harm if he was strong and fast but stupid, mindless, or gullible.

My impression was that the shotgun blasts did cause superficial damage to the skin, but didn't penetrate it. It wasn't bone that stopped the buckshot since one blast was to his abdomen. I also didn't notice him "pulling out the buckshot from his shoulder wound" I thought he was just examining the damage. As for the intelligence of The Beast, I think that is difficult to assess. He's a very primal and ferocious character, absolutely fearless, he tends to act rather than think and while I don't believe he's stupid, his impetuous nature could be taken advantage of.

@@Lieutenant_Scrotes My bad, you're right, we didnt see him picking buckshot out of his shoulder. So you're probably right. The only thing I noticed is that they didnt show us his.gunshot wounds up close. Only in the scene with the cage do we actually see them. He did, however have large scars in Glass where he was shot. If I had to guess I'd say his muscles were what stopped the bullets. Only those can theoretically tighten or stiffen temporarily to help absorb impact (like stiffening your gut before someone punches you there)

I am not a horror movie fan! With that said, I fell in love with the movie Split! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've watched the movie. I've watched everything I could find on line about DID itself. I went back and watched Unbreakable and have watched every preview for the upcoming movie Glass. I can't remember the last time I have been so impatient for a movie to come out! And don't even get me started on James McAvoy! Interesting. While David and Elijah are characters who are opposite sides of the same coin, Kevin is the metal between both sides. David's unbreakability is his power, Elijah's fragility is his weakness, but Kevin's fractured state IS where his power comes from, although mentally instead of physically. But Kevin is just as much a reflection off of David and Elijah as they are of each other.

Theory: being that David can feel #vibez from #sinners, he isn't the opposite of Elijah, or even Kevin, because of #Strength, he has the loose #PsyTouch, he's stronger from being healthy(ish) mentally. He can be drowned, he can be hurt, but his other power to reads people's souls, is where he can save or hurt these 2 villains. #TheBeast is partially #unsaveable, but life in prison, is #saved in this case

I believe in Elijah theory : that people have like them ,who live in extremes have an alter ego . David is super strong while Elijah is super weak(and by the way ,it is a good Bible reference as well . David fought bear and lions ) so maybe Casey will be Kevin alter ego He has unstability of mind while she looks calm as fuck even when she faced the Beast . When the concept of Split Personalities comes up, I usually think of Mike and The Malevolent One, Followed by Moon Knight, and then Horde.

Kevin kinda reminds me of a marvel character named legion that has spit personalities and powers that come along with each of his personalities. Even though kevins power is most shown in his beast personality unlike Legion.

one video I watched suggested that the beast was a mirror to all the Animals at the Zoo. Animal strength can be assumed 5 to 10+ times that of a human, speed 2 or 3+ times, and eat raw meat etc. The Persona of all can be put down to 5 total. As 1 can act as another to hide from the rest, assume all can do this and its rather funny to think that they are in a cluster of 3 or 4 with the Beast being the only unique one. Group 1, suggest Smart and Manipulative, group 2 weak and bullied, group 3 Strong will and Fair, group 4 is Special. Can not wait to watch Glass!

I know others have mentioned Legion, but another character I'm surprised you didn't mention is Crazy Jane from DC's Doom Patrol. She has 63 personalities that reside in something called the "Underground" within her mind. Kay Challis is her real name, but she predominantly identifies as Jane Morris or "Crazy Jane." Each of her personalities possesses a unique metahuman (as in, she gets her powers from a metagene thanks to the Gene-Bomb from the "Invasion!" event) superpower, which is identical to how David Haller (Legion) has 200+ identities with their own superpowers or how Kevin Wendell Crumb's 24 personalities possess different strengths and weaknesses. Each of these characters have abilities (whether superhuman or otherwise; the nature of Kevin's body being able to change to accommodate them, regardless of how possible they may seem, is superhuman in and of itself) that manifest depending on which alter is in control (or in the "Light") at any given moment, so I'm surprised Kevin wasn't compared to the two characters he has the most in common with.

Hedwick is the reason Dennis can grab the light. That’s what was stated in the movie when Hedwick says if he takes the light from Dennis for too long he gets mad which is also the reason Patrisha gets the light. They get it from manipulating Hedwick!!
