This is great! I'm new to using a coverstitch machine and I was wondering how to do a hem right on the edge of the fabric. You answered it and I'm subscribing to your channel!

How did you get your hem under the presser foot of your Evolution? That foot is so low I have a bit of struggle.

having watched you using the coverstitch I was wondering if you ever used the 3 needles instead of only the 2, is there a reason for this? Thanks for all the great videos. I appreciate you don't rush through each section and have learned lots from you. Gwen

+Gwen Naden No, I haven't used it in production of any of my projects. I've played around with it, I just haven't found a need for it so far.

Obviously a hobby sewist. Because there is no way you’re going to make money sewing that slowly!!!

It would be helpful to 1) state upfront the basting stitch is to be removed after overstitching and 2) the raw edge to be followed is NOT a seam. Might be confusing to beginners. And 3) depending on the machine, ending might be different (the part where he lifts the foot, slides something under the foot and pulls two threads out as part of removing the garment from the machine. Your machine might be different. Consult your users guide. End results looks very nice, and raw edge is nicely covered for a woven.

I guess saying "Basting hem before Coverstitching" isn't enough for beginners. Thanks for the comment!
