Your constant informative information has made me a better buyer and better prepared than ever. I have experience first had seeing these types of tactics being used. Then you start firing back this wealth of information they start trying to make you feel you don't know what your are talking about. Knowledge is power. I have walked out in the middle of negotiations and didn't look back. It is the greatest feeling to know you got this. You have thousands of other dealers out there to buy a car and they want your business. I currently work for a Credit Union and I love to share this information to the members we have. They get a positive experience with me after I share the experience this channel offers. At times they laugh wising if I can help them with to make the purchase a car. I tell them to got to YOU TUBE and follow the HOMEWORK GUY for valuable information. Keep up the great work Kevin! You Guys ROCK!

Love your content and thank you for the tips. What is the average mark-up on new trucks? I'm looking at a GMC 1500, 24-25. A natural disaster totaled my truck so I got thrown into buying a new truck without any prep and need advice. If I knew what the average mark-up was and/or what the invoice price is that would be huge. I found the trucks I'm interested in, even after telling multiple salespeople what I want so all they are doing is the paperwork. NOBODY has gone out of their way to "EARN" my business (got that one from another one of your videos) 👍

We have a video we are working on that you need to see. Unfortunately, it won't be out for another week or so. It talks about how to use competitive bids from dealers outside the area against dealers in your area. If you sign up for a texting consult package on our website, We can send you the "how-to" footnotes. It will also help with trade in evaluations.

11:35, cars are not investments, remember? An investment usually increases in value. Most vehicles do not, especially the ones that most of us can "afford.."

Excellent review of the battlefield known as the car showroom. All buyers should watch this before going anywhere near the dealership. I always treat salespeople with a degree of distance, which may seem socially rude, but it really disarms them. Always know exactly what you want or need before you start this adventure. Walking around like a lost puppy on the dealer's lot is always a bad way to start the buying process.

One we encountered, if you go as a couple they play one partner off against the other. Best to map out your negotiating strategy in advance and stick to your plan including when to walk if necessary. Or simply, best negotiator goes in solo.

Why do they want to keep you in the dealership all day? Last truck i bought they kept me in there for 3 hours, i drank prob 6 bottles of their water and finally told the dude i'm wanting to leave w/in the next 30 min either in the truck i drove or theirs.

The tactic is designed to wear you out, so you just give in to anything...
@ronaldrogers40042 ай бұрын
I've found that without a pre-approved loan you have to wait for them to find a bank that is willing to finance your amount and at what interest rate . With a pre-approved loan you go within about an hour , even if they are very busy . That is why a good dealership would prefer you being pre-approved. Waiting on the banks approval takes time and the dealer financing manager has to wait for each bank they reach out to and your not the only person he or she is doing this for.

@@ronaldrogers4004 This was before i was even sent to the "finance officer's" office. I was paying cash/wire. It kinda felt like the salesman didn't think i was going to buy what i drove 3 hours to look at, just weird. Though what you say could be some of it, because he did come back with a 12% interest rate so they may have been trying to "soft pull" or whatever my credit.

Might I suggest making a video helping subprime shoppers... my current store in an affluent area still probably does about 50% subprime with Westlake/CAC, etc... my former store in a much less affluent area probably did 80% subprime (650 scores or lower), and most people have negative equity along with it... most of your suggestions would only work with people with no negative equity, plenty down, and great credit
@KevinHunter2 ай бұрын
Wow! That's a lot of subprime!

Costco often doesn't live up to Consumer expectations. I just spoke with a buyer who had started out using Costco, and then learned he could do better on his own.

New Question? With President Trump coming into office and his deportation plan to come , what will and how will that effect the used car market ? What will happen to all of the vehicles that have been purchased by those being deported ? What are the dealerships and manufacturers going to do ?
