Hi Kevin, really helpful video again, thanks! Just wondering if you've had problems using the clarity setting on the X-pro 3, had it set to 2 last night and the processing time meant it was taking almost a second to store a single image. I couldn't figure it out at first, but then found it seems to be an issue for others too. I presume it'll be dealt with in firmware but wondered if you have had similar issues? Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your family and cheers for all your efforts for the Fuji using community.

Kevin it’s possible to get your feedback : when you turn on your XPro3, do you hear some kind of very, very little whistling noise/like an electronic crackle sound ? As soon as I press the shutter button and it focuses, the sound disappears immediatly. I don't know what to think about it, whether it's a problem or not.

Not that I can notice Thomas. There is small noise as the electronics kick in but that goes instantly. Certainly doesn't wait until the shutter button is pressed.

Bought my xpro 3 couple days before Christmas, found a dead pixel in the evf after 3 days . Have sent it back to fuji to fix for free, but it will take 2 months. Haven’t used it much, but the evf quality is noticeably not as good as xt3, the lcd is better but not as versatile as the 3 way tilting on the xt3. I’m quite disappointed honestly, coming from a leica m10 and Xpro 2 I love the form factor of the xpro3 and having a tilting screen is almost a dream come true. that’s why I am willing to pay 40% more than xt3 for a lesser camera. The biggest problem with the Xpro 3 is, the xt3 simply exsist, cheaper yet still better.
@leemartin29784 жыл бұрын
After three days I’d be demanding a replacement, no way I’d be waiting for anything
@OGaccking4 жыл бұрын
lee martin I did ask for replacement and the camera shop agreed, but when I brought it in they said they can’t do it since I have already registered the camera on Fujifilm’s website. It’s about fuji’s corporate policy etc. I believe what they said since they have already have the replacement unit ready for me, which made me more frustrated about fuji. It’s the worst after sales experience I have ever experienced only bested by leica which is another horror story altogether.
@leemartin29784 жыл бұрын
Well thanks for commenting , it’s good for potential customers to know what they may be getting into. If nothing else, it seems a good idea not to register your product until you know it’s working correctly. It seems detrimental that you are punished for registering it straight away
@davidharrison89484 жыл бұрын
I purchased the xpro 3 as I like the form factor more than the xt3 but the rear screen for me is a deal breaker. I prefer the screen on display and tucked away. Mine has gone back. 😔
@OGaccking4 жыл бұрын
Quick Update: My camera store managed to get me a replacement unit Yesterday, thought about selling it right away but decided to give it another chance. There are many ways to implement a tilting screen screen on a camera, but Fujifilm choose the worse one. Just make it like xt3, it’s not rocket science.

Regarding the Classic Neg Simulation. I've been chatting with Cap One about it as I use an XT3 & XT2, as you're aware the Classic Neg profile is now on Capture One and can be used with XT3 files but not XT2 files, (you can't copy and paste the settings from XT3 to XT2 files either). Cap One told me that you can only use Classic Neg simulation if it's physically available as a profile on the camera?! I've told them it isn't on the XT3 yet, so how come it's there on Cap One? Waiting for a response but will keep you updated. I love the Classic Neg, but if I shoot with both cameras at a wedding I won't be able to use that Simulation for editing!

For sure C1 has the simulation but it's not quite the same as what the camera produces, especially withe an JPG adjustments set in camera. Similar story with Lightroom.

Since I somehow think that you use capture one - do you think the classic neg could end up there? I love how the pro3 gets under the skin of some. It is easy to see it is not for everyone. But do they also write angry posts about Aston Martin making cars that do not fit their budget or needs? There may be one wildlife photographer on the planet that wish to combine the optical viewfinder with a 400 mm tele. We come in all sorts. But I do not think it is the target market for it. I am really delighted that there is room for a lovely little oddball in our world of "optimized" gear. It is not like there is some unique secret sauce inside it that force us all to go and buy this body. It is good to see good photographers beam happily with this thing. Have great holidays with that amazing merch that you are given for free after having sold your soul ;-) (After all, we all know that a professional opinion shared for free has only monetary and zero qualitative value. Except that we really do not all know or think that). Cheers.

Unlike ALL previous Fuji hybrid cameras in the X100 and X-Pro series, with the X-Pro3 in OVF, the frame lines and focus box DOES NOT return to the neutral infinity position when the shutter button is released. I've brought this up with technical support and they pointed me to the manual where it says this is the way it now works, deal with it. I don't know if somehow this saved them money or just some production savings, but it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If you focus something close the frame lines stay at the parallax adjusted position so you have to point to something at infinity to put is back to compose the next photo. CRAZY! I know not that many of us actually use the OVF, but this is a major setback that does not seem to have any functionality. That and of course removing the ability to change the magnification for wide and tele lenses. But, they now give you a camera that at and additional $200US you can whack the camera with a hammer and scrape you keys across it. If this has been a problem for you, go back to taking your meds. The parallax frame line correction problem can be corrected or at least an option provided with a firmware update, BUT, if I'm the only one complaining Fuji is not going to fix this problem. I've noticed they have backed off on firmware upgrades lately. Please, PLEASE complain to Fuji and tell them this has to be addressed in a firmware upgrade. If you don't, it ain't gonna happen.
@Balake6664 жыл бұрын
Thomas Geist to be fair I actually like this design because it’s now always showing the correct focusing distance related frame guide now instead of showing you after you half press the shutter, so there’s no need for you to re-compose after focus if your subject is in similar distance most of the time. Just like actual rangefinder cameras.

Hey Kevin, as you've had some contact with Fuji, do you know if they have ever considered this idea?; that the button on the SS dial is used to unlock the ISO selection rather than the “lift & turn“ action. Push button down, then turn the SS dial to select ISO, let go of button - shutter speed selection! The "lift and turn" action is then used to lock in and out of the “A” mode on the SS dial instead. Hi Kevin, I have to admit that i am one of those 'haters' ( 2020 English shorthand for I dont know what ) but anyway...to me the LCD combined with OVF - takes away from my preferences. I shoot with XT-3 and GFX100 so I am a Fuji fanboy you could say. What I call a design 'fail' is particularly irksome - because I was looking forward to being able to use the left hand viewfinder and keep my nose out of things, ther eis no need for Fuji to 'tell or suggest or demand' that a photographer make photographs and not do this or that or the other thing whilst doing so, my workflow is my workflow thanks - it is the height of arrogance (whether intended or not) to suggest that looking at an LCD is not a proper ctivity for a photographer to engage in - wwhat absolute nonsense! oh well que sera sera - the camera is a no go (for me anyway) and I'll just have to wait for the XPro4 ....but what concerns me is that this design fail may be symptomatic of management fail - so bad in my and many many other people's books so as to make their commitment to Fuji - less so. That said I want to say that I really appreciate your KZbin videos and photography - if anyone 'deserves' some Fuji love (from Fuji) it would be you - since you don't have to rely on hipsta bearded nonsense to talk photography and your images aren't a repetitive or mundane faux street meme.
