May have to eventually switch to this set up. The 3/4" galvanized pipes eventually wear at the threaded zone to the flange and shear off. For Version 2.0, now I have my base as a flange bolted to a board, cut to size and inserted into a bucket and covered with 80lbs of garden stone. Lid on the bucket, hole in lid for pipe to poke through. From there it's the Kewlus spring (and click adaptors) to hold the Kewlus cobra bag. Note: due to the buckets height, and despite 80lbs of stone inside, I still use an additional 50lbs to weigh down the bucket to prevent tipping. Overall my version 2.0 works nice. Considering a pvc mod like this for the upright pole +spring when I move to version 3.0. This type of equipment takes a lot of wear and tear so buy EXTRA replacements: Whether it's pipes, pvcs, flanges, K.springs.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! I found a few people had issues with the threads on the common galvanised pipe flanges from my early DIY days where I used them. That is one of the reasons I designed the Multi Base without any threads. So far I've had no reports of the Multi Base failing. This PVC setup is insanely low cost maintenance ($5 for a new PVC pipe) and I still can't believe how good the action is. I might have to come up with a modular fibreglass rod as a purchasable component instead of using a PVC pipe (also PVC pipes can vary in quality in different counties). Let me know if you make this and how it works for you.

Hey man, if you had a project where you were pouring concrete for a patio, how would you plan to integrate being able to easily insert and remove the cobra bag base? How would you set that up? I’m having concrete poured for a patio next week but I want to be able put a metal pipe or something in the concrete I can easily put the cobra bag base into when I want to train and know that it’s a rock solid base that won’t go anywhere

Bro, I always wanted to try that!!! If you’re looking at setting up a DIY cobra bag or spar bar using a galvanised pipe for the base, I would get a 1 inch flange and pipe at the bottom, connecting a 3/4 inch pipe at just below the spring level. Incorporate the flange into the concrete, so that the top of it is flush with the floor. You would just have a hole to screw in your 1 inch pipe. @@Kewlus would I need a reducing coupler to go from the 1 inch pipe to the 3/4 in pipe? Was thinking of burying an 18in 1in pipe into the ground with a coupler at the top that comes flush with the surface of concrete?

I don’t know how I’d feel trying to remove the button pins from the mast. Will a standard double pin spring button work just as well?

I’ve been smashing it, and so far it has not broken. You could reinforce the bottom by inserting a thinner pipe inside just up to the point where the mast ends. I haven’t had to do that yet.

hey reedy! if i wanted to diy the base can i just get a 1 inch x 12 inch galvanized pipe and matching floor flange to the base and drop the pvc into that? how tall is the click mast from the base? Im hoping to diy the cheapest possible option and then upgrade to the ks3 when i have the skills , thanks for all you do!

Iam so confuse in what to get? I wanna get the best and fastest spring. So if I get my own pvc pipe I have to add spring to the base right but if I buy all the parts from you the spring will be in the center right? What makes the bag faster ,spring on bottom or in the center?
