@@dave11a82 Yep. It’s called the Khruangbin effect. It’s been written about - their music is so multi dimensional that algorithms attach it to so much other music, they’re one of the most streamed acts right now. Which has a ricochet effect of amplifying bands that have a similar or adjacent sound. Another one is Hermanos Gutierrez- I’m not saying any of this is bad or derivative - but noticing that they sound like Khrangbin is exactly what the algorithm is doing and boosting them in exposure- we’ll see more bands with similar sounds come to the forefront over the next couple years. Like in the 60s when there were hundreds of bands that had a Beatles adjacent sound that got famous for a one hit wonder song. This is just the modern version.

To me it’s more like Santana. The bassist and guitarist are both in love with themselves whereas Khruangbin are much more introverted.
