My wife and I had an argument that the remote on her 2019 Santa Fe was intermittently working. I told her that the battery needed to be replaced, but she insisted that we needed to buy a whole new remote. (about $150) I told her that we didn't need to do that, but she kept persisting. I showed her this video and guess what? She watched me replace the battery and the remote works perfectly. Finally she believes in me.

@@user-mj8zf4qq7u Its probably the hood sensor. Make sure the hood is closed all the way. If it is, unplug it and see if the alarm goes off again.

Thanks so much for your brilliant video! Need to change the battery in the key fob for my 2017 Santa Fe but was scared of damaging it as I couldn't see how to get the case open. The instruction book for my vehicle just gave the number for the battery, then said change it out yourself or take it to dealer. That was helpful. From past experience getting the dealership to do anything costs upwards of $100. I've ordered the batteries from Amazon - Duracell 4 in a package for $7 - and you've saved me the dealer's fee! Love to you, mate, from a Texas woman!

I was just gonna ask them when I got there (using my backup fob) and decided to google it first. Your video was simple and easy to follow. Cost me $3 for the battery and only minutes to do.
