I've driven both... And for a normal car enthusiast who typically just drives on the streets. The base model 992 Carerra is more car than what you will ever need. I didn't find a major selling point to get the S over the "bAsE mOdEl".

Only reason I went with the S was for the manual transmission, otherwise I also would have gone for the base.

You could argue that you can take the standard Carrera to the limit more often on public roads than the S, which is now on supercar power levels. Since both versions now look largely the same (equally gorgeous), the “basic” version might be the best choice

The lips of the front bumpers are different, the one in the S is way much pronounced and bigger... can you confirm?

I have two question about the sport design package. 1) Do you have any Porsche given data that shows the added benefits of getting the sport rear fascia, I mean since it has a more visible and pronounced rear diffuser, does it improve downforce and by how much? Over the standard rear fascia, I am looking for a number by how much it improves it, 3%, 4%, 6% Etc. or none at all and it’s just for looks? 2) When getting the bigger rear wind aero kit, what are also the added benefits un downforce compared to the standard active spoiler? More downforce by 3%, 4%, 6% more? Thank you, stay safe and keep posting these informational, extra-optional features and classy videos.

I have the same base Carrera, but I haven’t noticed any problems with the open diff.

Always buy the S. The std carrera is gutless. I have a 992 S. Both of the cars you show have an optional sports exhaust with 2 exhaust pipes rather than 4

Dear Shelloiluk, both of these 911’s have the optional sport exhaust system. I don’t have any with the standard exhaust system at this time.
