Way to go Steve, as always you made it look way too easy!!! You are addicted to those PLA-ta-knee-tos aren't you.... for a second those potato chip wedges soaking in water looked like boniato, and I was like, man he's really expanding his game. Btw, I do recommend you frying some boniato up. They have a nice subtletly sweet slightly nutty flavor, and they fry up nicely. You know, on the days that all the grand moms take all the super ripe plantains at publix. Keeping on the reeel.....
@KeyWestKayakFishing8 жыл бұрын
Plantain + Banana = Plantana. LOL. Boniato, I will check that out. I might have had that and just didn't know the name. What I do now is stuff a bunch of plantains behind different products in the main aisles. Then, I just go back and I have ripe ones waiting for me. #WinningoverGrandma.
@joelgarcia11278 жыл бұрын
I guess they got theirs/or not!!! Boniato is like Caribbean sweet potato, though some people think they are one & the same but boniato has a pinkish skin, and has white flesh. My mom boils them, and adds a little sugar to the water to enhance their sweetness. But they are great wedged and fried as well, though they are a denser tuber, so they take a little longer to fry. Ok enough with the "Cook's Corner" segment. Good night and thanks for the reply. Wednesday's looking like a nice weather window, hope you make it out!!

After spending hundreds of hours fishing over the last couple of years, I finally caught something decent last night. A 5 and a half foot shovel nosed shark, we took it home with us and it tasted great, there is enough meat on it to feed the whole family for at least a week and a half, but by then we'd already be sick of eating fish because we would of had so much of it! Just wish I got it on video, would of made a pretty cool video.

Hi Steve, i am thinking of buying a 12ft indian river canoe, it has square stern and wide 39inch beam weighs 70lbs would like to fish around the bridges up to a few miles out but not past shore visability. also i would use a two and a half horsepower outboard.i have a toyota tacoma longbed for travel. i am wondering what would be your advice for me? thanks much for your thoughts!! pete.
@KeyWestKayakFishing8 жыл бұрын
Quite a few canoes around here. When the winds are down its like a big lake. Currents can be river like and when the winds blow things can get rough. As long as your paying attention, plenty of places to go. I see just as many canoes as i do kayaks on tourists coming down.
@hunterguy46308 жыл бұрын
Definitely the most badass kayak I've seen , but why did you just spend so much customizing the yak when u could've got a decent little boat for the same price ? Not criticizing Just wondering
@flysubcompact8 жыл бұрын
My understanding is he started with this trimaran sail boat and now uses it as a powered single outrigger. Motor is primary, but can still be sailed, paddled or peddled in an engine failure. Regular boat engine dies and you are stuck orring yourself back. Plus, it can be roof carried on a small car.
@KeyWestKayakFishing8 жыл бұрын
Because I can strip it down to just the bare kayak and use it and then just add pieces as needed depending on where I want to fish all the way up to the badass level. I can fish skinnier than flats boats and regular boats, but I can go offshore with the blue water boats and the flats can't. Plus, much better gas mileage than a boat, much more maneuverable, and you can car top as well as launch anywhere that you can walk down to the water. Storing is much easier as well. A lot less money.
@hunterguy46308 жыл бұрын

Your 100 miles away so no issues by me. LOL. Actually, when I first created this channel I called it Lower Keys Kayak Fishing, because really, I hardly ever fish right around Key West. I generally go up the Keys a few islands. But then I learned that Randy, a kayak fishing guide, called his Facebook page the same thing. Then I thought, in a search engine, more people would put Key West fishing than lower keys fishing as who else knows what lower keys is. And here we are now. LOL.
