Dis is very disruptive but they don't massively advance your gameplan so if your opponent can break through the BS they can come out sgead. If they don't have the answers though it gets rough.

Barry got wrecked, key charge wouldn’t have saved him. It says “lose one aember, forge a key at current cost”, current cost was 6 he’d need 7 to pull that off not 1. The point of the card is you can, hypothetically get 2 keys in a single turn.

That is correct. But I was still confused. The rule state: "The first time a creature with the elusive keyword is attacked each turn, it is dealt no damage and deals no damage to the attacker in the fight" But in this case the Dew Fairy was attacking, not being attacked, so I was surprised that the Elusive effect still applied. Anyone know what I'm missing here?

Spoke too soon. He added the Way of the Wolf upgrade card which gave him Skirmish on his first turn. I thought he misspoke when he said he had "Skirmish" but he was referring to the Upgrade rather than the Creature. So Fairy took no damage not because of it being elusive, but because of its skirmish upgrade.

They missed a thing or two in the notation, though. For example, Tom forgot to capture 3 aember from Barry when he replayed all of those creatures and forgot to deal damage to Barry's creatures when he played that card that sacrificed one of his own creatures to deal 3 damage (IIRC) to two of his opponent's creatures.

6:16 I also discovered. I think when creature is Elusive and you attack it.. You just pop the elusive but no one takes damage. And now I actually found that in rules tho. The first time a creature with the elusive keyword is attacked each turn, it is dealt no damage and deals no damage to the attacker in the fight. Elusive only stops damage that would be dealt by each creature’s power; damage dealt by keywords or other abilities still applies.

6:07 yes. that’s correct, and it did come in to play next time it was his turn, when ammonia clouds killed him, instead of doing just 3 to his 5. he would have used him to steal. it altered the game for sure.

Tom won as soon as he played the sting. Particularly because Harry had no way of destroying it or stealing enough Amber from him. My friend has a deck like this, and winning against it seems very unlikely. Unless you generate an extreme amount of Amber or get rid of the sting somehow.

I do find that sometimes decks just roll other decks in this game..since all decks are set in stone, you can not really prepare for most things..you just have to take it and hope your own thing is more effective...what is good about it thoughts that tactics and good game sense really matters! Still, the game could benefit from giving every deck a side board..

Just a heads up no one gets to choose to go first, its random say you guess tails and it is tails you MUST go first, if its heads your opponent MUST go first. This is being done wrong by many people and it's very important. Elusive is ONLY when you areattacked, no damage is dealt to either creature the first time, means you need to attack with 2 creatures to kill an elusive creature.

So one of the major issues I'm seeing is a fairly newbie mistake in most cardgames, I see it alot in magic and yugioh. They get so focused on playing all the cards they can that they forget to actually do the effects of those cards. I would put a list up here of each time they do it, but it happens practically every turn. Slow down, play each card, and do the effects before moving on to the next card you want to do.

i feel like this game really shows the main issue I see with Keyforge: the lack of cost on cards. Theres no way Tom could have won that easily if he didnt have the massive swing at the end where he was basically allowed to summon every monster he'd played during the game without any downside

There are downsides. One downside is that it is a dis card. Now the card seems very powerful from how Tom was able to use it, but imagine a game where that card is drawn early, or in a deck without many dis creatures. Suddenly you have declared dis played one card for the chance at a stronger next turn. If you declare any house other than dis, the card is much weaker because you are also almost guaranteed to not draw any cards and are relying on things your opponent has already shown they have the ability to remove. So basically we saw the best possible outcome of the card, but most plays with it will not be so strong.

I agree on general, however the overall theme of House Dis seems way too OP in its denial and its CC effects. So regardless of how lucky Tom was in his drawings, I feel like the House needs some serious balancing

For me it also draws other elements that I really dislike about the game, but it's just one good example. In a game where you don't choose what goes in your deck control elements are going to beat more aggressive ones every time as long as the control is somewhat consistent, and the house system ensure that it generally is.

@@goldcreeper7376 I disagree, the lack of card costs and the fact you're consistently drawing cards hurts control quite badly as they can almost never maintain a hard lock on the board. This game was pretty much the perfect dis game where Tom got a lot of control down very early and got a couple of swing turns but if Barry had played a bit better he could very possibly have won. In this game disruption effects have to be powerful because if they weren't they'd be almost meaningless.
