Hi Serge, Can please explain what dictates being able to expand a lane in the Video Animation Editor? As an example, I've set key frames to scale a still image up and down but there is no expand arrow to expand the lane and edit the curves. Same goes with the Color Board animation lane - I've set keyframes for Global Saturation but can't expand the lane to edit the curve. The Compositing/Opacity lane seems to have the expand arrow in the right corner by default. Help appreciated!

Hey. Thank You for this tutorial, it was indeed very helpful. I just have a question, although you did show with how to use key frames for fade in & out but can you please tell me how to use it for crop. For example i start the video and at the end want the video to get cropped a bit from top and bottom automatically, how do i do that ? i tried following the same steps using key frames, but it's not working for that.
@adobemastr2 жыл бұрын
Serge, I'm stumped. How did you get the keyframe at 3:07 to turn yellow? That seems to be the key (no pun intended) that "stops" your circle from immediately moving to the next number. I'm unable to duplicate this particular step, or observe this unique yellow keyframe, as you have shown in your video. Thus, my shape generator (an arrow, in my case) never stops for a second but slowly moves past my "stop points." (Update: I'm still trying to figure this out and was able to create the "yellow keyframe." Unfortunately, my animation still does not stop for one second at my next keyframe but blows right past it without stopping.😪)

Serge, you are one of the few experts in KZbin whose tutorials on FCPX are always to the point and easy to understand. I have a question if it can be answered at your convenience. Also viewers of this awesome YT channel can help. Usually after a video has been finally rendered in FCPX, the video file appears black. I want to know if there is any way to create a thumbnail/poster frame so that when the video file is shared in WhatsApp it will give receivers some idea about the content of video by looking at the thumbnail before prompting them to download the same. Hope to hear soon and thank you!

I just started using FCPX, and have a few questions about keyframing: where is the graph? For example, if I wanted a zoom with keyframes, it would be a steady zoom throughout the clip, but what if I wanted a slow zoom and then a fast one? Usually theres a graph to do this if you use an editing app (eg: Video Star) but I can't seem to find it of FCPX

I'm having trouble adding a keyframe to the actual text because every time I click on transform it highlights the background footage instead of the title text itself so the keyframe is added to the footage rather than the text itself if that makes sense. Appreciate any help around this.

Have you noticed how when the keyframes are set to "Smooth" they get jacked up quite often into strange shaped animations? I always have to convert mine to Linear by right clicking on each keyframe which is quite annoying. Wish Apple would provide a default choice for this. I almost never want "Smooth". Have you experienced what I'm talking about?
