Interesting stuff. I use oat balls in a "pack bait" for carp fishing. I mix oats, cream corn, various particles, and flavors. The mix breaks down in a few minutes making a nice spread. The carp then comes and picks up a hookbait with concentrated flavoring. I've found that oats with the husk on float. I always make sure to ask for the breakfast style when I visit the feed store. You can always stick the husk kind in a food processor.

Various particles and flavours Willing to bet it’s curry powder, garlic powder and maybe a tad of paprika.

As an ex commercial hand line yellowtail snapper fishermen who has caught well over 50,000 lbs over a period of years, from Palm Beach to the Florida Keys. My mixture was rolled oats, builders sand, store bought or fresh made chum. I always a 5 gallon bucket at a time. Add fresh or thawed chum to bucket, and equal amounts of sand and chum. Mix together. Depending on the current and depth you can adjust your sand or oats. Oats will float, sand is weight. The shallower you are the less sand, the deeper you are add more sand. Every time you fish, you make your chum at the spot to order. Get it right.

Try a mortar mix blade in your hand drill. Works for me. At Home Depot south of you. I think it was about $10.

FYI - if you have any nicks on your hands from fishing and you mix the slop without gloves, you might end up with a nasty staph infection, I know.

So will one of the future videos be using his balls? Lol... Don't think these'll work on smallmouth, but hey, I'll try anything once. (No I won't...) 😁

Haven’t tried the oat balls yet but I do mix the oil and oats and use a giant spoon to toss the mixture. What’s the go to soap/cleaner for the hands? I don’t like going to Woody’s smelling like Mr menhaden?

do you have to store it in the freezer?

Why do you require an email address to shop your store?? Do you not think that hurts business?
