J. Krishnamurti - Saanen 1981 - Public Talk 3 - The ending of conflict
Summary:
Will better organizations or institutions solve our human conflict?
Conflict has many factors, can the analytic mind end it?
Is there a perception not born out of knowledge, which sees the whole nature and structure of conflict? Is that very perception the ending of conflict?
Once you see time is not a factor you begin to see cracks in the enclosure of the brain.
Can one look not only at the person without naming, time and remembrance but also at ourselves?

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I doubt computers can discover anything new, I mean even AI seems to be able to create from memory (AKA Big Data) which is exactly the same as we do by thinking. Creativity is born out of consciousness isn't it ? Computers are just supposed to be faster than human thinking and even here there's a big doubt, I presume a quiet mind can be faster than a computer if not overwhelmed by irrelevant thoughts. Computer is just able to focus more by design (not willingly) but focusing leads also to prejudice as focusing consists in discarding irrelevant memories and giving priority to so called relevant ones. Meaning even big data is limited, therefore AI onlu thinks faster but not more efficiently than we do, plus we have access to creativity from the source of consciousness... What's your feeling about these statements ? I wished I would havebeen able to raise those to JK's attention...

It depends on the definition of 'new'. something which is new to me might be familiar to someone else. sometimes old repackaged with a new prospective and insight also appears new. this can be done by an AI or even a human being who could see that prospective. however since AI sees lots of data that is 'knowledge and memory' it covers higher area of consciousness (that is - content of the mankind's cumulative mind) than one person. It is possible that the way you perceive the word 'consciousness' and what JK points are different. what do you mean by 'source of consciousness' ? the non-dualism believers (if i say so) define consciousness in a little different way than Jiddu does here although I am slowly starting to see the overlap. but Jiddu's defination is more experiencial and the other one leans a bit towards a concept for me(whatever I have come to realize so far ..., I am still learning :) ). If we consider consciousness as 'the content of mankind's cumulative memories, knowledge, experience', then eventually computers will be more successful in finding new insights than a single human being because they are fed with big data which a single human brain cannot. but that does not mean human beings won't create new things, they will still be. what human beings can do which AI might not be able to is; live life totally new every moment to a point that the life itself becomes a new thing, every life will be a new thing. the new will be ' a way of being '. may be this new experience can be fed to the AI again and we will act as a source. but that happens when we break away from the human consciousness (that is - content of the mankind's cumulative mind ). I believe both AI and human beings can create new things together just like another human being invented a computer which was new to many of us. It is also a fact that the significance of 'new' will change. there are many things new things in the world right now that we don't know. do we care ! what really matters is how we live, a new way every moment, choicelessly being aware.

The AI we created isn't a true AI. Though still really impressive, still limited by the data we give it. Computer though really fast and powerful. Just look at the amount of calculations done in triple A games. Yet our brains/conciseness operates a body, process numerous amount of input (more the most realizes), and learn things, even things which are outside the scope of its original programming. Doesn't mean it can't out grow us. Even now days there are still people who don't grasp what a computer is, how it works and what to do with it. And see it as a dangerous thing that will take their job. But yeah would've been great be able to pick his mind on these subjects. Same go's for Alan Watts and other great minds like DaVinci and etc

I want to ask to all those people who listen to JK that do you close your eyes and dissect intellectually and enter into a peaceful state? Or do you just listen and understand the talk intellectually? Are you connected to some spiritual organization though JK criticized that?

@@uchiha6620 Hi friend. I also used to feel a bit like this in the beginning. However this conflict rises because I have this motive - that to understand what he says fully to a point I will never have conflict in my life. this motive creates a conflict between what is and what should be (that i should not have any conflict), thus there is resistance by 'what is now'. just seeing is choicelessly, helps.
