Fun fact: Khalida (خالده) means the immortal one this is the feminine version of the word the immortal one for male would be khalid (خالد) so queen Khalida would be the immortal queen basically.

Well that must have surprised the pirates of sartosa to see an army of mummies and skeletons sailing towards them, also during the battle I have this image of Khalida and Neferata being locked in this epic battle while Settra is just casually wandering around the town slicing up pirates and burning houses

In Mortal Empires while playing as Karl Franz by Late game Khalida is usually part of the Mega Alliance with the Empire Dwarves and Bretonnia, Which makes me imagine a hilarious senario where Khalida sends a few of the Skeleton Boys to Karl and the Gang thanking them for killing Vlad and Mannfred for her and the Karl just Shrugging and letting her Join the Order tide.

The weird thing is, before Khalida´s reign Lybaras was known as the city of Tahoth just as much (if not more) as it was of Asaph. Supposedly, the necrotects of Lybaras were quite ingenious and in the war against Nagash had invented various strange constructs, including even skyships.

Ah, was looking forward to this one. I'm reading Gotrek & Felix: The Serpent Queen by Josh Reynolds as we speak, and it goes in depth into the Tomb Kings and Khalida lore. Too bad this guy wasn't allowed to write Kinslayer and Slayer, and finish the series. I read The City of the Damned by David Guymer before this one, and his style was just too damn pompous. I'm fearing the worst for those last two books...

There is life in Nehekhara. Numas is the only city left that has a living population. Interestingly it is also protected by the undead Nehekharian legions. It is all thanks to a tomb prince called Tutankhamun. When he awoke, the Scythans living there saw him as their personified god. The Scythans living in Numas tend to the city, and life actually thrives around Numas, while Tutankhamun defends the living with his legions. When a living warrior dies in battle, his body goes through a rital where the body is removed of flesh by vultures, and then the fallen joins Tutankhamun, enables the fallen to keep defend the living. According to the lore, Tutankhamun and his legions fight side by side with the Scythans.

I was thinking, does that make Khalida the most badass female character in the Warhammer lore? Who else can compete? Other females characters I can think of were either corrupted (vampiric - Neferata and Isabella for example, shadow, Morathi and Ariel to some extend) or pale in comparison of her story (sisters of twillight, Kerilian, the Everqueen, the Fey...). Am I forgetting someone important with a strong story in there? (great video btw, it's super rare I watch something that long on youtube, but it was so interesting it didn't felt long)

Never read anything about Valkia and Ulrika, although being corrupted by chaos/vampiric blood kind of makes me immediately say that they're not as badass as someone who rejected all corruption and the temptation of eternal life and choose to die instead. I thought about the Ice Queen, but I don't know her lore either. The Everqueen is Alarielle, ruler of Avelorn, consort of the current Phoenix King Finubar the Seafarer. Ariel is the eternal consort of Orion, and rules over Athel Loren together with him. They're not even in the same faction :). Ariel is far older (and looks a bit like a butterfly with her wings )but has a past of being corrupted by dark magic that almost led to the destruction of Athel Loren. Alarielle is far younger (and looks completely like a normal elf, baring her exceptional beauty), has mostly the past of being saved and protected by the twins HE LL during an invasion of Ulthuan by the dark elves. Ariel is more or less an ever living incarnation of Isha, just like Orion is an incarnation of Kurnous. Ariel is about as old as Malekith, since her younger sister was actually Malekith's wife before he betrayed. Alarielle is the CURRENT chosen of Isha HE side, that changes with every new Phoenix King. She's a young elf, and while she may be very old for human standards, compared to Ariel, she's but an infant. While they hold a similar role (to some degree) in their respective factions, both characters are very different. BTW this means that they have a family connection, but veryVERY far away from each other. Alarielle is, like all the everqueen, descending from Astarielle, who was wife of Aenarion as her Everqueen and got two children, Morelion (who wil lhave for descendant Tyrion and Teclis among other famous heroes) and Yvraine, who is Alarielle's great-great-i don't know how many-grandmother. Aenarion then married to Morathi, who gave him Malekith as a son, who like I said married Ariel's sister. Yep, that's a slight connection x).

Right, Right, sorry bout that. seems I got them confused. From what I understand Ulrika was forcibly turned to vampirism and more or less is still a 'good guy', while Valkia was a Norse tribesman/woman is life who managed to kill at least one daemon prince and was ascended by Khorne upon her death. As for the Ice Queen, about all I know is that she's one of the strongest human mages and was one of if not the only person able to turn back Grimgor Ironhide (a never-ending blizzard might not be enough to kill a black ork but it is enough to annoy one).

Ah right, I remember reading about Ulrika now, she's an important character from Gotrek and Felix books, rather than being a character from the army books. I never read the novels, but I've heard of her. I would say she pales in comparison of Khalida who refused vampirism rather than succumb to it, pun non intended. Defeating a daemon prince as human sounds badass all right, although fighting for chaos side is a downside in my books. Ice Queen sounds similar to Alarielle with just that, who banishes daemons and undead with a touch due to her power, and led plenty of armies while still being young, which is an extreme oddity for an Everqueen.

So modern day,is the world aware that the tomb kings are a thing? Are they like skaven where most people say they are myth, besides the few who have hushed whispers about their existence? Or are they like the Lizard men,where people definitely know they exist,and where they are,but have very little direct interactions with them? In the trailer,with the dark elves exploring the tomb to grave rob,they seemed Extremly surprised that the tombs were still filled with creatures that could attack them.

You got remember that not all races in the Warhammer world are equal when comes to these things, I can easily imagine that dark elf dreadlord (well dreadlady by the looks of it) would be arrogant enough to dismiss tales of the tomb kings as fanciful tales made by ignorant humans. Well at least until she got reminder why some places are best left unexplored.

bh5496 I highly recommend The Burning Shore which is a El Dorado story but with lizardmen. In that one the Empire, Bretonian, Kislev and dwarfen expedition thought there was no such thing as Lizardmen...untill a Carnosaur bust through their barricades and ate a few of their dudes.
