there was allot more you could have talked about,in middle school they had a short unit in math about statistical dishonesty , which preety much consisted of teaching us how to do it.middle school is weird like that..

Same thing but more often used from my experience: bar graphs that don't start at 0. E. g. imagine values 91 and 99 on a plot that starts at 90 and ends at 100. The deceptive thing is that when you look at it at first you see the colored area of the bars. One bar looks 9 times bigger than the other, while the value actually is less than 1,1 times bigger! Often the scale is left out completely and the actual values have to be searched for somewhere in additional text.

Sorry guys but this is not a good example for you to use.... First the construction looks right out of excel - which has a frame rubric to focus the information as large as possible hence the different scales. 2ndly- it's obvious that the analysis is comparing the amount of loss to the amount of gain. - The cola leader has lost only 10+ percentage points - which given the amount of market (assumption) could be in the millions. While one smaller upstart (assumption) has instead more than doubled its impact/acceptance in the market... For a startup in the same size market this could represent an amazing ROI.... 3rdly - If you put two curves on the same graph you imply one curve is affecting the other - that analysis is not obviously intended... In Actuality - you guys misread the graphs.... find a better one... I recommend one done by the government - shouldn't be hard to find. please reply if this helped.
