Let's find the expression for the magnetic field inside a straight long wire carrying current. Since the magnetic field is symmetric around the conductor, we can use Ampere's circuital law.

Dear Khan Academy, might I add that this is applicable to DC current only as only DC current distribution would be even in the conductor.

Dear one...i think B is inversely proportional to just r as we move away from rood ...not r squared...so should graph not follow a straight descending line?after r is greater than R

I suppose the permeabilities inside the wire and oputside the wire should be different, shouldn't they ?

Both of u are wrong neither magnetic field inside a conductor is 0 and for ur information wire is made of a conductor if it wasn't there would be no current..go and learn something
